Can any bloggers out there report any success/ failures inserting hands via iframes using:

- WordPress
- Blogger

I'm struggling with WP, but there are known iframe/ WPress issues (although there are work-arounds I read).

thanks.

Works fine on blogger, you can see some examples in my posts this month.

Note that one friend has said that he cannot use it from work as the bridgebase.com domain is blocked by the corporate firewall.

I've done a quick update to my hand creator. There's now the facility to play the cards. I'm not really happy with it but it was the best I could do in 20 minutes (damn day job!!!).

Any hope of giving a URL parameter that will generate T instead of 10 (Yes, this drives me nuts).

Ive just saved some lin files from myhands and uploaded them to a teaching table.
Ive found the orientation is wrong, North is dealer each time when it should have been E,W,S

Not sure if this is a myhands problem or user error.

Greg,

annotations require a curly bracket. But apart from that - love it.

I have it adding regular brackets and it's working for me.

Okay - I get it now. The regular brackets do the bid explanations which are working. I guess I need to find a good way to do both the explanations and the annotations. I'll figure it out eventually.

New version - you can now annotate the play. You can enter bid explanations but not annotations. The play annotations will add the {} for you, similarly the bid explanations add the () for you. If you wish to append to your previous annotation just start your comment with a + and it will do that. A quick tip with that - always follow your + with a couple of spaces so that the spacing is correct.

Next step will be to allow annotations in the bidding and then I'll work on cleaning up the rough edges.

Link is same as above.

I had no problem in using the handviewer in a blog
You just need a blog which allows to write direct HTML
blog

For example the above post in the source code:

This hand I played in a BBO-team-match. And I misdefended.
Click on my nick to show only my hand and dummy's.
Right-click the diagram and choose "hide played cards".

Click on "next" for every trick to see how the play went.

<iframe src="http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?lin=qx|o4|pn|declarer,xx1943,North,East|st||md|2S8QKAH5JQKD27C7JA,S236H367TDJAC356T,S579JH24D346TQC9Q,|rh||ah|Board 4|sv|b|mb|p|mb|p|mb|p|mb|2N|mb|p|mb|3C|mb|p|mb|3S|mb|p|mb|4S|mb|p|mb|p|mb|p|pg||pc|S2|pc|S7|pc|ST|pc|SQ|pg||pc|HJ|pc|H7|pc|H2|pc|HA|pg||pc|S4|pc|SA|pc|S3|pc|S5|pg||pc|HK|pc|H3|pc|H4|pc|H8|pg||pc|HQ|pc|H6|pc|C9|pc|H9|pg||pc|H5|pc|HT|pc|S9|pc|C2|pg||pc|CQ|pc|C4|pc|C7|pc|C6|pg||pc|DT|pc|D5|pc|D2|pc|DJ|pg||pc|S6|pc|SJ|pc|D8|pc|SK|pg||pc|S8|pc|C3|pc|D3|pc|D9|pg||pc|D7|pc|DA|pc|D6|pc|DK|pg||pc|C5|pc|D4|pc|CK|pc|CA|pg||pc|CJ|pc|CT|pc|DQ|pc|C8|pg||" height="400px" width="400px"/&gt>blah</iframe>

Do you see where I made the mistake?

After winning the diamond J it was mandatory to cash diamond A. THough partners lenght signals in the minors were wrong, I should know that declarer's distribution is 4423 and partner holds both minor Ks.

That is an old problem the teaching table ignores the the setting of of dealer in the lin-file tag md|x.....| where x = 1,2,3,4 for S W N E stands.
The teching table sets the dealer according to the information in the qx|| tag, where the boardnumber is strored.
Fred told me by a mail, that the BBO-Windows version will not updated any more, but that he plans to integrate teaching-tables in the flash version and then he'll consider the suggestions of improving teaching tables.

I've completed a new version of my Hand Creator. It now does everything. Bid explanations go to the right of bids, the annotations go underneath.

I have not put any protection on, so you'll need to be careful what you erase.

In the near future I'm planning on only allowing access to the cells that the user needs access to and I'm also thinking about changing how the auction and play gets entered (something more user friendly). I'm not sure when I'll get to these changes.

Enjoy!

Hi. If this is a repeat of a request somewhere above, I apologize.

Is there any way that the forums software could be persuaded to allow iframes or SSI or something similar? it would be REALLY awesome if we could see the handviewer things in the messages instead of having to click through and have it on this huge other page, not being able to see the hand and the post questions all at once.

This is really more of a question of hacking invision, i guess...

Yes. It would be harder to move from this (old) forum software, though, while keeping old (bridge) content readable.

Let's say that I want to copy the 'movie' link from myhands and paste it into an AOL chat. How can I do that? I've tried right click 'copy shortcut' but when I paste the hand (link looks like http://online.bridgebase.com/tools/handvie...220-1231101012) it says '404 Not Found'

I love the Handviewer program! The only thing that I see is that when I post on BBF usuing handviewer, after a few days the auction disappears such as here, and then for another one it came back after a day or so. What causes this, and is there a fix?
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

You did it properly. My bug. It should have been 'www.bridgebase.com' not online.bridgebase.com in the copied URL.

Try it again and it will work
