How bad are the GIBBO robots? Disgustingly, repulsively, sickeningly, hopelessly, horrendously, suffocatingly bad. They are an embarrassment to bridge.

Over South's 2NT, the monumentally stupid GIBBO robot in the North bids 3D rather than 3H. If the unbridled ignorance of the GIBBO robots could be converted to electricity there would be enough of it to power the entire world until the end of time.

South deals and opens 1NT. All pass. The GIBBO robot sitting West is on lead with 84, 106432, A76, A86. A heart seems very normal, but this dweeb leads the 8 of spades.

The lead happens to be irrelevant here, but why would the imbecile in the East want to lead a heart, declarer's second suit, INTO declarer? Perhaps because like ALL GIBBO robots, he has no idea how to play bridge. These clowns should quit the game and take up another hobby - maybe needlepoint.

Typically stupid lead by the braindead GIBBO robot sitting West. He knows that North has four spades, but ignorant fool that he is, he leads a spade anyway, allowing South to eventually develop a third spade trick and pitch a losing diamond. Hand after hand, these GIBBO robots continue to demonstrate how totally clueless they are. Never in my life have I encountered even a single human player anywhere nearly as bad these simpletons.

West makes a VERY questionable reverse, considering that 3 of his 15 HCP are from the stiff king of spades.

Then the absolute inanity of the pathetic, antiquated, unworkable GIBBO system is exposed, as East bids 2NT, defined as "Artificial 2NT - any weak hand; 4+ spades; 7- HCP; 6-8 total points". What a TRULY stupid way to play! This clown has A1086532, 8, 954, 105. It is absolutely ridiculous that the miserable GIBBO system won't let the poor rube bid two SPADES and instead forces him to bid 2NT. This could very possibly wrongside the hand on numerous layouts, and it doesn't let his partner in on the secret that he has SEVEN spades when he has only promised four. The GIBBO robots are absolutely horrendous and hopeless bridge players, but it's impossible not to feel sorry for them, considering that they are handicapped by a system that is such a piece of worthless garbage.

And this same hand also shows for the Nth time what *****ous leaders the robots are. South's double showed clubs and hearts, so of COURSE North doesn't lead either of THOSE suits, because the GIBBO robots DETEST leading any suit that their partner has shown. So what does North lead? A spade - the suit his LHO has shown, because the robots LOVE leading enemy suits.

The GIBBO robots play a system that is pure garbage, endure hilariously bad GIB definitions, can't make intelligent leads, and can't defend.

Yeah, but how's their bidding? Oh, glad you asked. Their bidding stinks. Here's an example:

East passes. South opens 1C. West passes. North has J10, AJ98, AQ8742, 7, and bids 1D. Hey, maybe I was wrong! 1D is a perfect bid. Let's see if his perfect bidding continues. Maybe I'll have to apologize!

East bids 1S. South makes a support double, showing exactly three diamonds. West bids 2S.

It's now North's turn to bid. Will he continue his PERFECT bidding on the hand? Will I be forced to apologize? This is SCARY. I'm VERY nervous. What will he do? What will I say if I have to apologize? Oh, here it comes. He's opening his mouth to speak. He bids...FOUR DIAMONDS!

The absolute M.O.R.O.N. bids a RIDICULOUS four diamonds instead of an EASY, simple, NORMAL three hearts! I'm off the hook! I don't have to apologize! He has PROVEN my point that the bidding of the GIBBO robots stinks! They are beneath contempt!

North-South have an uninterrupted auction as East-West pass throughout.

North has AQ10, 5, KJ10986, 764. He opens 2D. South bids 2H, defined as "Rebiddable hearts; 14+ total points; forcing to 3D". North...LEAPS (??!!) to three...NO TRUMP, perhaps on the strength of his CLUB "stopper" of 764.

The 3NT bid is defined as "1-4 clubs; 6+ diamonds; 1-3 hearts; 1-3 spades; 10-12 HCP; 12+ total points; partial stopper in clubs; partial stopper in spades", so don't blame the robot - blame the ridiculous system and pathetic definitions that he's saddled with.

The definition actually SAYS that to LEAP to three NO TRUMP he can have a SINGLETON in ANY of his three non-diamond suits. WHY would HE want to declare NO TRUMP from HIS side with a singleton in an unbid suit? But GIB is apparently totally cool with that, because with this definition GIB is basically RECOMMENDING such stupidity.

Result was obviously fine, but I don't see why North was in such a RUSH to play hearts at tricks 3 and 4:

The clueless and hopeless East-West "defenders" fail to cash out their third TOP TRICK and then get pseudo-squeezed out of it. Is it really necessary for me to mention that they are both...GIBBO robots? No, I didn't think it was either.

East's silly lead gives away the whole show, allowing declarer to waltz home with 13 (!) tricks.

I have some sympathy for West, but let's just say that his lead did not work out well for him:

Here, however, as opposed to post #774 directly above, I have absolutely NO sympathy for East's lead on the given auction. What a TROUT!

Here's an auction from another table on the same hand described in post #775 above. South's 4D was obviously not a correct bid, but I have no interest in bashing humans, since none of us are perfect and we all go wrong once in a while.

I do, however, have a BIG interest in bashing the horrendous GIB definitions in the hope that ONE day they might actually be improved, which would be good for BBO, its users - everybody! Until that day, we have to put up with GARBAGE like this GIB definition of South's 4D:

"Biddable diamonds". That's it...that's ALL! Nothing else! I think most human players know what it should mean, but that doesn't excuse the total and unconditional FAILURE of the lazy and incomplete GIB definition to specify what the call means in GIBBO's hopeless, antiquated system.

The GIBBO robot sitting East stupidly pops his spade king at trick two. Yes, he can see that it is a sitting duck, positioned as it is in FRONT of South's AQ65. Yes, North probably (KEY word: "probably"!) would have hooked anyway, so no, it probably didn't cost...but it was STILL a STUPID play - in other words the type of play we always EXOECT from a hopeless GIBBO robot (which means ALL of them!). Sure, most of the time his play will be irrelevant (as long as North hooks), but it will NEVER gain. At BEST it will break even. But if, for whatever reason, North had been planning on NOT taking the finesse, but going up with South's ace if East had followed low, then the BONEHEADED play of the king WOULD cost. That is the textbook definition of a ZERO PERCENT play (the ONE play that the GIBBO robots are actually GOOD at!): a play that can NEVER win but sometimes CAN lose.

They are HOPELESS!

I think that even looking ONLY at West's hand, the spade king rates to be a better lead than the spade 7. Yes, on some layouts the 7 will be the "winning" choice...but definitely not here and probably not on the majority of layouts.

The GIBBO M.O.R.O.N. in the East wins his spade queen at trick one and then...shifts! The level of stupidity is, as usual for these *****ous GIBBO robots, absolutely staggering.

2S by North is a bad bid. 4D by East is even worse. This particular piece of idiocy - a stupid and needless jump to 4D - is something that these airheaded GIBBO robots LOVE to do, as they relish in their abysmal ignorance.

Have I ever mentioned that the GIBBO robots absolutely ROT? Oh, I have? That's all right: It bears repeating. It bears repeating a few MILLION times, because that's HOW much they rot!
