Good hand again for an unbalanced diamond approach.

The Trump jack could be wasted (if pard has KQxxx in spades) , or very valuable if pard has KTxx in spades.
It really comes down to if pard has wasted values in clubs, and I don't know of any way to find out about that.
If you bid 2♠ pard will pass with a 9/10 point hand
KTxx QJx Kxx xxx
or this
Kxxxx KQx xx xxx
Using Deal Master pro - 100 deals - giving pard 6-10 HCP and 4-5 spades 4S is 57%.
Admitedly the double dummy analyzer might not be exact, but it seems that you want to be in games taht are even money.

You can of course argue, that the control richness
of the hand, makes it reasonable to treat the hand
as 6 loosers instead of 7.
With kind regards

I remember Walddk stated some time ago that 4-4-4-1 hands are not as strong as they seem.
How about this 4-4-4-1?

I still think that our hand is better described by 2♠ and that the chance we miss game is much, much smaller than the chance we get overboard.
On top of that, if I make any stronger call we run the risk of partner taking us seriously and overreaching to slam.
