a 10 spot or Q away from a jump

With AJ10x Axxx, Axxx, x or AQxx, Axxx, Axxx, x I jump as aces are grossly undervalued in 4321 point count but a 7-loser hand is still not a jump.

Make it a 6-loser hand and now I like the jump. I see it as that close.

Depends on my system. If I play weak NT or unbalanced 1♦, easy 2♠.

If I play "SAYC"-ish, I would bid 3♠ with these prime cards. After all, I might be bidding 2♠ on some balanced 12-count.

The real question is, what does "WBC-1" mean?

Feel free to assume wk nt, eastern scientific or strong nt 2/1.

The real question is, what does "WBC-1" mean?

WBC means the World Bridge Championships.

This hand is from the 2007 Semifinals of the Bermuda Bowl and Venice Cup. Board 34.

Zia rebid 2s and Michael made five. Commentators said 2s is normal standard auction.

Three pairs in Bermuda Bowl played a partial. Muller had a gadget 2nt rebid here and De Wijs bid and made 4. 10 imps to Netherlands.

Three pairs in Venice Cup reached and made game.
