Never mind the random layout or the random result. Just consider the auction and North's hand. He hears his "partner" open the bidding one DIAMOND. Later he (North) decides to lead a red card against West's 3C. He has a choice between hearts, where he has an empty Q532 and diamonds where he has a chunky interior with Q1092. Seems to me that DIAMONDS looks like a more attractive choice between the two, even WITHOUT the auction. Then add that his "partner" OPENED one DIAMOND, and the choice becomes overwhelmingly clear, but the GIBBO terminal I.D.I.O.T. leads a heart...undoubtedly because these natural born LOSERS so much DESPISE...EVER leading "partner's" suit. North-South can make 5D on this VERY lucky layout. They're off both major suit aces, but the spade ace is onside AND West, with a stiff heart, can't get a heart ruff because he's void in diamonds. Thus, unaware of the VERY lucky layout, NS rest in (only) 4D and when North doubles 4S, it looks "right" for South to play for penalties, particularly since he's looking at three (potential) quick tricks in the minors, as well as the spade king, AND North's double is defined as showing "13+ HCP".

Unfortunately, GIBBO North (with "GIBBO" - as ALWAYS - being a synonym for "I.D.I.O.T.") does NOT have his PROMISED 13 HCP. He has a mere EIGHT (!), a full FIVE (!!!) fewer than his "promised" MINIMUM! And to boot, his (MERE) eight consists of two for the diamond queen (which rates to be WORTHLESS on defence) and six for the KQJ (NOT the ACE!) in hearts, where HE has FIVE-card length in FRONT of his LHO who OPENED one...HEART! In other words, not only is he GROSSLY exaggerating his HCP, but he is also doing so with a hand that could easily take NO defensive tricks. Meanwhile, the ALWAYS pathetic GIB definition of his double once again (ho hum) illustrates that GIB knows NOTHING about "total" points, because it naively and ignorantly claims that the double shows "13 PLUS high-card points" but "13 MINUS total points", thereby - as USUAL - getting the concept completely bass-ackwards.

And as for West: That GIBBO simpleton, with an 8-1-0-4 shape (!!!) including EIGHT "solid" (missing the AK) spades (!)...PASSED (!) at BOTH his first and second turns to bid...then bid ONLY 3S in passout seat over 3D and then later (INCONSISTENTLY, as usual) bid 4S.

We scored an almost average 46.4 % on the board for "holding" the doubled contract to its ice cold 10 tricks. Two other tables also "held" 4S doubled to "only" 10 tricks, while seven allowed 4S doubled to make an overtrick. Four NS pairs, on BIZARRE auctions, bid and made 5D. One was allowed to play in FOUR diamonds (where the HELL was West???!!!) and made an overtrick. And one NS pair was...allowed to play in...THREE (!!!) diamonds (where the HELL...HELL...HELL!!!!!! was West???!!!) and made a SINGLE overtrick.

Conclusion: GIB is a bad joke and GIB definitions are nothing but trash.
