Hypnotic (which is great for me since I get very little sleep as it is). Great fun too. How does the voice pronounce words with typos? B)

It is funny. But you surely don't want them all turned on. I think private chat and broadcast chat is good to have voice on, because I tend to ignore them. But if you turn them all on, you will go crazy... :-)

Anyway, I will use it for some options.

This might be the most revolutionary thing BBO has done. Now folks who are partially sighted or suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome.are no longer hampered by their restrictions - they can now listen to the bidding and participate, and chat as needed saving valuable keystrokes.

This is VERY impressive, almost to the point that I'm floored by it.

I know a number of our users have some degrees of vision impairment, so this is a great option to have. Only problem I have with it is that it doesn't speak singlish =P It also says ":--p" as "p", hahahaa

Soon we can have voice input too? A visually impaired user can read out the cards he wants and have them played correctly?

fun fun

perhaps i've had too much to drink already today, but i'm not able to locate the 'voice' button - instead i still have only a 'customize' button, which does indeed have a drop-down list but i believe this has been around for awhile...

i'm running win2kpro. does this require that ms-agent be installed?

This is great fun. It even speaks some kind of Dutch! Can the function of the voice be extended so it will say "duck that trick you idiot" or "lead a now"? It might improve my game :)

This means either you have not installed version 4.2.8 or that BBO did could not start Microsoft's speech software on your PC.

Assuming you are sure you have installed the new version properly (the version number appears at the left of the window that you first see when you click your BBO icon) please let me know what version of Windows you have.

Thanks,

Hi Fred...

Running under XP will no noticable problems.

I'm sure that you have a lot of customers who will benefit from this feature. With this said and done, I can't listen to it without thinking of all the Stephen Hawking's "appearances" on Simpsons and Family Guy...

I keep cracking up whenever the application speaks to me...

If I switch the language to German, the suits are German with English pronounciation, but the numbers are still English. If I type something in German it just sounds horrible. Maybe the software should analyze what language is used in chat, and if it is not English, better refrain from talking.

I also don't see the voice button - I'm running WinME, sadly. Anyone have a link to the site where you can get the voice software?

I am on Win 98. I am like scoob, can see the Options box, but I can't see Voice anywhere. In that box nothing seems to have changed compared to the earlier version

Various versions of XP all work with it...

It's amusing how depressed the PC sounds when you pass (sounds like Marvin from Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy) ... and how double sounds like the PC has perked up...

It would be nice if it could read the shorthand in the future as WDP etc sound bizzarre...
