We wouldn't mind trying out both KLP and our strong diamond system that is rather new. :-)

4 pairs could be:

luke_warm and mike
hrothgar and Free or The_Hog
scoob and llamas
keylime and his partner

Weekend looks best, either Saturday evening or Sunday.
I am thinking of making it a fairly long team-game, perhaps 24 boards. Do we switch the pairs around (so they play the other opponents)? That would mean they'd need to prepare defences to both systems.

I'm not available in the weekend, and I'm a European, so CET... Sunday might be possible, but completely not on monday, friday and saturday.

Systems i wish to see here is Pavel's who posted his new evaluation system, and also tysen2k who had the idea of passing balanced hand with up to 16 hcp.
Also fantoni nunes which was discussed here would be nice to check out.
If you need a hand i'll be happy to play any system.

Here is a summary description of the system that I'll be playing with either Free or The_Hog

In first/second seat

1 = Strong, art forcing, ~15+ HCP

1 = 4+ Hearts, might have longer minor, ~9-14 HCP

1 = 4+ Spades, might have longer minor, ~9-14 HCP

1 = Unbalanced with 4+ Diamonds, might have longer clubs

1NT = 11+ - 14 balanced, could have a 5 card major
Denies 13-14 HCP and 4/5 Spades unless 4333
Denies 11+ - 12 HCP and 4/5 Hearts unless 4333

2 = 6+ Clubs, ~ 9 - 14 HCP

2 = preemptive with 4+ Diamonds and 4+ cards in either major
Could be 4432, denies 4441 or 5440

2 = preemptive with 4+ Hearts and (4+ Spades or 5+ Clubs)
Could be 4432, denies 4441 or 5440 shape

2 = preemptive with 6 spades or (4+ Spades and 5+ Clubs)

2N = weak 3 level preempt in either minor

Frequent use of relays
2/1s are natural and non-forcing

In third/4th seat we play Strong Club, 4 card majors, and 14-16 NTP

Foobar and I (DrTodd) could play our forcing pass system called Dejeuner.

Several people here has seen us in action and we play it every weekday so we are well practiced. Not sure you want to be using pairs that are playing a new system for the second or third time.

that's entirely up to the rest of you... this certainly describes us, and you won't hurt my feelings a bit if you'd rather go with established/practiced pairs

frankly i think watching a system and/or it's lack of practice go completely awry is half of the fun.

I agree with Dr. Todd

Watching players self destruct isn't particularly exciting
Personally, I'd find it most interesting to pit a couple of light opening systems against two sounder systems, but perfectly happy to play against whatever...

LOL ... i'm sure it is fun for you to watch someone else go awry heheh

i don't think we'd go *completely* awry, but then i don't have a lot of pride... as long as the bottom pair isn't taken out and tortured, it should be ok

from an objective point of view, i've seen plenty of established pairs self destruct, often on numerous occasions.. of course if it does happen at least nobody can say it's cuz they were unfamiliar with their system... bad luck, maybe

Perhaps we should set the date and time and then work out who can play at that time?

How about Sunday 12 December? Now we'll have to work out the time.

unless something happens, that date is fine... to accomodate free and others it probably should be late morningish eastern time

I'm free whenever on the 12th

I would, however, like to understand the lineups and who/what we'll be competing against

more specifically, I want time to develop defenses...

Oh, I am sure with just alerts at the table, you will be able to handle any artificial bids the oppenents throw at you that you have never heard of before. hehehehehe

Maybe they will suggest some recommended defenses for you. :-)
