And I'd have said that in the simplest Acol, flat 19s open a suit and rebid 3NT. Not that that's any better...

At MP's, the club J is slightly more attractive. but given the fact that dummy failed to use stayman (most likely, no four card major) makes me a little more inclined to still lead the heart K. Flip a coin, its that close, imo.
So many experts, not enough X cards.

You dont lead the 10 from K109x? Partner should put up the Q in this case....however since you led the 10 from J109x, its unlikely to matter if he does.

No, I don't lead from KT9x of clubs vs 2N-6N period. Partner will know this. If partner is looking at any kind of club length in dummy like A8xx there is no way he will put up the queen. Even if partner chooses to not use his brain it's A) unlikely that he even has a club honor to put up and B ) unlikely to cost when he does.
It is common that if both opponents are balanced you try and make the most passive lead possible against 6N. Sure, responder COULD have a long minor and COULD have chosen not to show it but in general they are balanced opposite balanced and your goal is simply not to blow a trick.

BTW, it behooves this hand to plan discards in advance after taking a looking at dummy -- looks like it's going to face the entire brunt

Dummy has a 2272 shape with AKQJxxx of diamonds. Partner has the ace of clubs, and a heart lead was needed to beat it. I didn't see any problem with a club lead but had a few players telling me that I should have led a heart. I thought they were being results merchants personally, and the answers here suggest that I was right.
Thanks

Suggesting the ♥K lead into a 2N opener when both hands appear to be balanced is the pinnacle of resulting.

I don't understand why dummy should necessarily put down a long running suit. It could have been a pure quantitative auction just as easily; you have seven high cards, the opponents could easily have the rest or close to it and you could have blown it easily by an aggressive lead.

Arend is kidding (see his prior post where he leads the J♣)
You'll get used to his sick German / Ute humor.

No seriously, I would lead a C of course. Agree with Phil's comments totally.
