I don't think we are in any Grand Slam Force but the experts might disagree

Fair enough, although IMO the risk of West not reasoning and passing is greater than the risk that he forced to game in misfit with 9 HCP and a singleton in clubs.

If we should be in 7 we will have great hand to discuss after the game.

So how does West manage to open without any Aces and surely 5 not 5?

I opened...East.
West "must" have 3 Aces for the 2/1, but they still have a bid, why would I bid 6?

Hearts have not been mentioned, let alone 5 of them.

This is getting out of sync,,, yes 6nt

ah WasWinM's hand threw me, but 6N looks fine after the cue-bids with West not having a ctrl, but 3 Aces.

Herculean effort from phone.

MP

At the next table Brink bids to 6 via a generic slam try without control bidding. He probably gets the overtrick, not sure if we do (depends how our South reads the auction).

Not if south follows expert standard and leads a trump

After a trump lead, the only entries to dummy are overtaking a minor suit king, conceding the overtrick. You cannot unblock both minor suits.

Yes no overtrick on a trump lead.
But is it expert standard here?
The minors look quite attractive to lead.
Maybe someone can imagine the Brink auction which would help.

The play in 6NT requires some caution too, do not make a vague claim :)

Most experts lead a trump almost without thought agaist a grand, there is a horror that made when somebody picked up their partner's trump Q in a bad grand some years ago in one of the big championships

But it's not a grand. And on a natural auction it doesn't look likely that a trump will save a ruff in dummy.
