Yes, the "defence" could have done better. Shocking, I realize.

Oops, please give me a few minutes to take my tongue out of my cheek.

Among other things, note how Frick and Frack "managed" the spade suit with their...ahem..."defence".

A...TRUMP shift (ironically enough!) by Donald J. Dumbo at trick three.

Bye-bye, trump guess. Hello, CLAIM of the 11 remaining tricks.

What a M.O.R.O.N.! But then, most of the world already knew that.

The next post, 2843, will look at this same hand but from another table...with another GIBBO I.D.I.O.T.

As promised, here's the same hand as in 2842 immediately above, but from a different table.

Here, WEST is on lead. Does he lead a HEART, the suit his "partner" opened? Of COURSE he doesn't. HE'S a GIBBO robot, so HE...HATES to lead his "partner's" suit, but he LOVES to lead the enemy suits. (Yes, he IS stupid, illogical, and perverse with his "thinking".)

So, the M.O.R.O.N. leads a club. Thanks to this BRILLIANT lead, declarer can NOW take...all 13 tricks! You know what, Mr. Frick, GIBBO star performer? Maybe your lead wasn't so brilliant after all! (Jerk!)

One problem though. Declarer has to GUESS the trump (spade) suit because the GUESS was not REMOVED, as it was when Dumbo was "defending".

Declarer guesses wrong, so Frick wins his spade queen and BELATEDLY plays a heart, but it's still in time for Frack to cash two hearts and hold the contract to 10 tricks.

Note that ONE GIBBO imbecile (Dumbo) stupidly gave away the trump position, while ANOTHER GIBBO imbecile (Frick) TRIED to allow declarer to take ALL the tricks with his STUPID lead.

ALL GIBBO robots - without exception - are nothing but absolute garbage. They rot at anything and everything bridge-related. They are the pond scum of the bridge world.

If GIBBO thinks that North's hand qualifies as an "invitational" bid, then the GIBBO system is the worst of all time and the GIBBO clown in the North is the worst "bridge player" of all time.

Hand after hand after hand, all we EVER see from GIB/GIBBO is incompetence, stupidity, and lunacy.

The next post (2845) will show the same hand from another table and will of COURSE expose FURTHER stupidity from a different GIBBO robot. They are ALL garbage.

Same hand as in post 2844 immediately above, but from another table.

Here, the auction begins the same way, but here South elects to raise to 4H.

Over South's 4H, North...BIDS 4NT BLACKWOOD! This stupid, STUPID fleabrain...INVITED (!) with 3H, an insane action to begin with, given his hand. His 3H bid was PASSABLE. He was QUITE willing to play in only 3H if his partner refused the invitation...but when his partner accepted the invitation, NOW he SUDDENLY went slamming! Where the HELL is the logic? Where the HELL is there even an IOTA of consistency?

With a "partner" like North, South obviously had to play in either THREE hearts or at LEAST...FIVE hearts! It was IMPOSSIBLE for him to play in FOUR hearts with THIS North! So on many layouts, if exactly 10 tricks happen to be available, South's options could well be to either miss a cold game or to go down at the FIVE or SIX level!

On top of North's astoundingly stupid, inconsistent, and illogical sequence, how the HELL would BLACKWOOD (!) help him when he had a VOID in ONE suit (the one his partner had OPENED, yet!) and jack-fourth in another?

When I was a kid, there was a pharmacy nearby that sold gumballs from a machine for a penny apiece. Each and every one of those GUMBALLS had more intelligence than any stinking GIB/GIBBO robot I have ever seen!

Against South's 3BT, West's JACK (!) of spades WINS trick one (!), so...West decides that he MUST...SHIFT!!!

WHAT? What the HELL? (Of course, East - ALSO a stinking GIBBO robot - didn't exactly help matters with his impotent play of the FIVE from Q95 tripleton, supposedly playing standard signals, but West is STILL an I.D.I.O.T.)

So, West shifts to a heart...but while LOOKING AT the NINE-EIGHT doubleton in dummy, he shifts to the FOUR (!) of hearts from his holding of J1074, and he gets EXACTLY what he deserves when dummy's EIGHT wins the trick, since declarer had AKQ6. Result: Declarer won FOUR heart tricks - one more than he was legitimately entitled to.

Stupid and cowardly pop of the spade queen at trick two.

7.14 % score on the board for Halfwit and Dumbo.

GIBBO bidding would improve if the GIBBO robots were barred from ever cuebidding.

Time and time again, they keep their mouths shut for most of the early auction, and then at a relatively high level decide that they MUST cuebid.

On this hand, North might well have chosen to bid 1NT over West's 1S. Instead he opted to pass. Okay, fair enough - I would not criticize either a 1NT call or his pass. But why does he then later decide that he MUST cuebid over South's 3D? His hand is too good to pass, but 4D seems sufficient, and he might even opt for 3H, since South has shown a good hand with at least five hearts and four diamonds, and quite probably greater length in either or both suits. Since North did NOT bid 2H earlier (over West's 1S), a call of 3H now would be safe. Admittedly, 4D would be more normal. But THREE SPADES is typical GIBBO stupidity - ESPECIALLY when South now bids only 4D over the horrendous 3S call...and North STILL feels COMPELLED (I.D.I.O.T. that he is) to raise to 5D.

On top of everything else, how useful does the M.O.R.O.N. think his AK of SPADES (!) will be...when West presumably showed at least five, East presumably showed at least three, and North is LOOKING AT four (!) in his own hand? The dirtbag (a word I recently heard used by a real jerk elsewhere, an incompetent fool who can't even get his facts straight when he tries to slur someone to please his criminal boss) has NO high cards in EITHER suit South has shown, and doesn't even have any in clubs, but decides...as soon as he hears South bid 3D...that he MUST bid at LEAST a game...and starts out with his typically vile cuebid.

The hopeless GIBBO bidding structure again rears its ugly head with North's systemically foolish 3C call.

Against South's 3NT, West is looking at the world's most obvious jack of clubs lead...but West is a GIBBO robot (translation: imbecile), so he stupidly leads the spade 3 from his worthless 32 doubleton.

GIB/GIBBO: Worst bidders. Worst leaders. Worst defenders. Worst partners. POSSIBLY not the worst declarers...but sure as HELL, far, FAR from the best. And, for a bit of humour: Note the typical BBO break: 4-0 in hearts.

Yes, East INDEED has the two suits his responsive double shows...but maybe doubling was not such a wise choice with an 0-0-8-5 shape (!), a mere two (!) HCP...AND the possibility that West might convert for penalties (as he did).

Typical GIBBO "logic" and "consistency":

West...PASSES East's 1S bid. West will be VERY happy to let the auction END with East declaring 1S.

Maybe you agree with his pass, maybe you don't. Personally, I don't, but that's not why I posted this hand. If West's pass was the ONLY issue, I would not have included the hand here...but a bigger and much more laughable action occurs later.

After West's (debatable) pass, North competes with 2C, East and South pass. West is now in passout position. He decides to compete. Fair enough. I approve.

So he bids 2S, right? WRONG. HE'S a GIBBO robot, one of the stupidest, worst, most illogical, most inconsistent "bridge players" in the long HISTORY of the game, so HE...

...bids...THREE CLUBS! This absolute I.D.I.O.T., who was THRILLED to pass his partner's 1S and was QUITE willing to have the auction end there, NOW decides that a mere 2S call by him would not come CLOSE to doing his hand justice, so he MUST...cuebid (!!!, committing the hand to at least the THREE level, when he COULD have stayed at the TWO level by bidding 2S. Note that this HUGE turnabout in his evaluation of his OWN hand is not because his partner East showed extra strength or shape. East showed NOTHING extra, because East PASSED over 2C.

Now, you might agree with West's initial pass of East's 1S...OR you might agree with his cuebid of 3C...but you cannot agree with the COMBINATION of his two actions, because there is NO consistency OR logic to his huge shift in perspective.

BTW, the GIB definition of 3C is the usual pathetic, repugnant garbage that we would expect.

This board was played 27 times.

On 24 occasions, including at my table, South declared 4H and went down one, scoring 55.77 % on the board.

On 1 occasion, South declared 4H and went down two, scoring 3.85 % on the board.

On 2 occasions, South declared 5H and went down two, also scoring 3.85 % on the board.

Now here's the reason for this post: At all 27 tables, NS had an uninterrupted auction. South opened 1H in fourth seat, and North STUPIDLY splintered with 3S, obviously forcing the partnership to at least FOUR hearts.

But...the stinking GIBBO robots play DRURY, one of the VERY few good things that they do play, since most of their illogical, antiquated system is unworkable, poorly designed trash.

What the Hell is the POINT of playing a GOOD convention like Drury if you are too agonizingly STUPID to use it?

I just started playing a game with three GIBBO robots. It took roughly a minute before they proved that are as sickeningly, disgustingly, hopeless as ever. Can't say I was at all surprised. GIB/GIBBO is the worst set of "bridge players" I have ever seen anywhere. You cannot fix pure garbage such as GIB/GIBBO, so don't even try. Just get rid of the disgusting trash once and for all and replace it with a system, definitions, and robots that are at least a little bit competent...unlike the horror show that is GIB/GIBBO. It is positively repulsive. It's an embarrassment to BBO and an ugly stain on the entire game of bridge.

As one of the endless pieces pf evidence indicating how monumentally stupid the worthless GIBBO robots are, just look at the lead the M.O.R.O.N. in the West made on this auction.

We hear a lot about artificial intelligence nowadays, but with "Ginsberg's Intelligent (!!!!!) Bridgeplayer" (sic!), it's much more like artificial I.D.I.O.C.Y.

Insane 4NT call followed by even more insane 5NT call. And yes, I took a mini-flyer with 4S (as I frequently do when playing in a game with three GIBBO robots, who are ALL known to be complete imbeciles). If it worked, great; if not, I'd cheerfully live with it.

I'm not complaining about the score (which was an unexpectedly high 39.3 % for down four!), and I wouldn't complain even if it was a zero. That's not the point of this essential thread that Diana so wisely created a little over a year ago. The point is to bash GIB, so I am doing my duty as a GIB basher in exposing a TYPICAL action by these clueless GIB/GIBBO clowns.

I am following the mandate of this thread in the INCREASINGLY faint hope that the powers that be will finally get rid of the hopeless GIB/GIBBO monstrosities and replace them with DECENT robots, thereby GREATLY improving BBO in an era where it now has many competitors.

Typically silly and unilateral shot by North. Could it have worked out? Yes, of course it could, but that would have been pure luck.

Why is he RUSHING to play 3D by IMMEDIATELY and DIRECTLY bidding (an artificial) 2NT over West's 2H call, when he (North) has a very flattish 2-3-5-3 shape and a LOUSY diamond "suit" of 109642?

To make matters worse, he has potentially good defence, considering that his partner opened 1NT, and to make matters even more worse, his RHO's 2H call showed hearts and... a minor! The minor might well have been diamonds (!)...as, in fact, it was on this random hand!

Competing is often a good strategy, but these hopeless GIBBO robots far too often overcompete, and far too often in exactly the wrong situations. GIBBO robots rot.
