Let's examine the MAGNIFICENT lack of intelligence of the always awesomely pathetic GIB definitions. All it takes is ONE example to show how lazy and illogical they are.

3H is defined as "4+ clubs; 5+ diamonds; 3+ hearts; 2- spades...".

Let's do some basic, elementary school arithmetic, something that GIB is either too ignorant or too lazy (maybe both?) to do. According to the typically miserable and worthless GIB definition, North is showing at LEAST 4 clubs, at LEAST 5 diamonds, and at LEAST 3 hearts. Therefore, he is showing at LEAST...TWELVE cards in those three suits. (4 + 5 + 3 = 12, Mr. GIB.) Since all three suits also had a plus sign, that means that the total COULD even be THIRTEEN cards in the three suits, if ANY one of them had another card. Now, Mr. GIB, there are ONLY 13 cards in North's hand, so guess what? EVEN if North has "only" 12 total cards in clubs, diamonds, and hearts, that leaves room for ONLY...ONE spade in his hand. Obviously, if he has an additional card in any of the three suits (clubs, diamonds, hearts), it will leave room for NO spades.

And yet, Mr. GIB, your typically hopeless, inaccurate definition claims that he has "2- spades". NO, Mr. GIB, NO! That elementary school BASIC arithmetic (that a seven year old CHILD could do!) clearly shows that the definition, if CORRECT (!), would say "ONE MINUS", not "TWO MINUS" as your typical piece of GARBAGE does!

To think that someone somewhere actually took the time to write this pathetic definition and presumably thought that it was a GOOD definition is both sad and laughable. And quite obviously, no one has ever bothered to proofread and correct the unending drivel that passes for GIB definitions. If plumbers were this sloppy, everyone's home would be overflowing with water!

In the "defence", East of COURSE pitches incorrectly, allowing declarer to score TWELVE tricks and 100 %, which means that yet AGAIN the GIBBO fools EARN themselves ANOTHER zero! GIB definitions are the worst I have ever seen ANYWHERE, not JUST in bridge. GIB/GIBBO robots are worse bridge players than even the WORST human player I have ever encountered. GIB/GIBBO rots.

It appears that the sheer number and scope of GIBBO's problems has become an irreversible mistake at this point — and yet we still have people paying, amd earning masterpoints with it.

I don't mind what mature adults do with their own money and time, but it does concern me that beginning players are learning by playing with GIBBO. There should be some kind of warning before entering a partnership with it, akin to a cigarette package:

Warning: playing with GIBBO will seriously damage your game.

Maybe Hollywood will eventually make a movie about it. Russell Crowe can star in it. They can call it "The Return of The Insider".

Not my table, but worth posting for West's unbelievably stupid lead of a SPADE...INTO the declarer who had OPENED 1S.

I wonder if there is EVER a hand where the GIBBO misfits manage to do NOTHING stupid?

Just LOOK at East's bidding:

He opens a perfectly normal 1H. Fine.

South (yours truly) chooses to overcall an atypical 1NT. West and North pass.

East chooses to compete, which is slightly aggressive and potentially risky, but not unreasonable. Fine. EXCEPT that he competes by bidding two...CLUBS (!?)...defined (logically, for ONCE) as showing "4+ clubs"...even though East has only three (QJ10 tripleton).

South can now cheaply bid 2D, so he does. West and North both pass again.

East chooses to continue the battle. He bids 2H. He might have done that on the previous round, rather than bidding two CLUBS on his THREE(!)-bagger. Anyway, he's still only at the two level. Fine.

South gives up and passes. West passes for the third consecutive time, but North finally bids, competing with 3D.

East...BIDS (!)...THREE...hearts, which buys the contract when all pass. This makes exactly, for a fairly average score of 52.5 % for North-South and 47.5 % for East-West, but ignore the score and just consider:

East's 2C was not exactly a textbook call. In fact, with SIX hearts AND four spades...and ONLY three clubs (!)...when he was "promising" at LEAST four, it was a rather bizarre bid that could easily have worked out poorly.

Then later, having already OPENED the bidding with 1H, having COMPETED (facing a partner who had PASSED) with 2C, and having competed AGAIN with 2H (STILL facing a silent partner)...East bid AGAIN (!) with THREE hearts (!), facing a partner who had passed THROUGHOUT and who could easily have had NOTHING!

Meanwhile, West, who was KIND and GENEROUS enough to provide an ace (!), a queen, and two hearts, happened to have FIVE spades (opposite East's FOUR), so on this "brilliant" auction, spades were NEVER mentioned and the EW 5-4 (!) fit in the BOSS suit remained a secret to everyone.

East-West EARN themselves yet ANOTHER zero for their World Championship collection of total failures. They EARN it with a typically wretched GIBBO "defence". It's what they DO! It's what they are FAMOUS for!

We scored 66.67 % on this for making two overtricks in 2C, but that is QUITE a PASS (!) by North over South's 2C!

Why the Hell is East bidding 3H? If he was desperately trying for a shared bottom, he succeeded in his objective, as the two EW GIBBO maroons vaulted into a no-play 4S for no reason.
