Hi.. Thanks, that worked for three out of the four.... that pesky Diamond showed up as a square. I posted the text as you wrote on the blog... if you would like to view it. It would be easy to make diamonds and heart (if a diamond showed up) red.

Ok.. you can print text hand from linconverter if you copy and paste them in the "EDIT HTML" page and apparently, surround it with <pre> and </pre> tags, and never preview it.. just post it.

That will be a huge help. Doesn't look as pretty, but hey, it is easy. Thanks Scoob.

Ben (and anyone else that might be interested):

If you have MS-Word available on your machine, I have written a small piece of code & toolbar that will go through a lin-text file and add all of the html complaint suit symbols automatically, for the auction and the trickplay, and add <pre></pre> tags.

If you would be interested in a copy, please email me.

Ben

Been there ;)

Forums use this in CSS:

.spades { color: blue; font-family: Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 120% }
.hearts { color: red; font-family: Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 120% }
.diamonds { color: orange; font-family: Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 120% }
.clubs { color: #00C000; font-family: Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 120% }

then, is <span class="spades">&spades;</span>, etc.

Verdana, the default font/family, has problem with the diamond symbol

I want to commend Justin's blog http://squeezingthedummy.blogspot.com/ to everyone. There's some seriously good thought in there.

And from the number of comments in reply to his posts, it looks like he's building up a sizable audience.

Ok, thanks to Keylime and Jlall starting blogs, I have begun one (well three). The one I really wanted to do is Identifying Squeezes, the concept to web publish my book on Squeeze plays, with lot and lots of example/quiz squeezes.

As many of you know i tried to use this forum to share my thoughts on squeezes, but it just isn't suited to the format of a book, with chapters. The blog above seems to be working. I have the introduction posted, along with links for the seven chapters I have finished. The chapters are not posted, however, just the first paragraph or two.

The reason the chapters were not just dropped in is the font I used for suit symbols didn't convert. and the hand diagrams didn't carry over as well as I liked. I have found a work around that is a little difficult to use, but looks nice except for faint line around the suit symbols.

I plan on reposting and adding the extra material I left out of the chapters I posted here on the forum, as well as posting the remaining chapters on that blog.

Seeing as I'm deeply involved in the upcoming World Juniors in Sydney, I'd thought I'd illustrate the event with a blog of my own.

http://www.dummytracks.blogspot.com

Check it out for pics, hands and all the antics of the juniors down under.

Thanks to Justin and Ben for the plug -

My blog is where the access points is for the podcasts I offer weekly, and for other thoughts as I see come down the pipe.

rofl...you may not like their music but it seems hard to deny that they are vocally talented.

American IDOL is bad, no talent at all. I watched a couple of episodes of ROCK star INXS, wow here you can see REAL talent, it makes Bo BICE look bad..very very bad. If you want real music tune in Tuesdays to Rock Star INXS ..theres good music, BUT dont stop off first and listen before hand to Candian idol it will put you off music for life

For the record:

Canadian Idol this year, much better than last year.

Rockstar INXS, not a bad concept, does have drawing power for various reasons.

Carrie Underwood, yowza. Talent and beauty rolled into one. She sang for Canadian Idol last week and I was impressed.

I have followed the example and started a blog also. Cannot promise updates as often as most of you, but I'll try to keep it going.

Also I couldn't think of a cool name like Keylime Express so it's just Gerben's Bridge Blog: http://gerbenbridge.blogspot.com/

Many have asked me why I call my blog the "Keylime Express".

Well, the keylime part is due to the fact that I'm a FL native and that I've lived a life that has taken many dirt roads and few freeways. I chose the keylime because it's small, round, and unique - just like me (not obese but I am "round" :lol:).

The express part was because of two things: the house I lived at in Canada was next to an active railroad that is part of the Via Rail, and secondly it was the way I played on BBO -- many commented that they saw an express train running over opps.

Hence the fusion of two unique concepts.

Speaking of which, podcast 6 will be up in 10 days - am still getting settled and the like. :-)

I too have started a blog. It's about directing (as I just directed my first live game, and a lot of people were asking me how it went, I figured that it was easier to just post somewhere and not have to copy and paste to everyone).

directorcalls.blogspot.com

I mainly intend it as a place to post what rulings (I was going to say interesting rulings, but I doubt that there will be many) I've had to make, and for people to comment if they want to.
