I was South, GIB was North.
1NT was 15-17.
2♠ was minor suit stayman.
3♣ showed 4+ clubs.
3♠ showed spade shortness.
I decided that I didn't really like the idea of playing 3NT with Axx opposite a stiff or a void in spades, and, since this was IMP pairs, I went looking for game or slam in clubs. According to the description of 4♦, it shows either a club fit (I thought that was already clear) or no spade stopper (?). A pretty weird description of what should be a cue bid, but I plowed ahead.
ALL PASS.
This is just mind boggling.
Maybe I should settle for game, since North is a passed hand. But he is allowed to hold x x xxxxx AKxxxx. In any event, passing 4♦ is not possible.
