IMP, robot tourney, best hand South.

So, West has been dragged kicking and screaming into game (3H was non-forcing and has had no further encouragement from p). I am sitting there seeing that trumps are breaking badly. How bad is the double? Or is it normal?

Thanks.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

This is nothing close to being worth a double. Zero aces; KJx of diamonds sure to be useless for the defense, three small clubs is bad for our side, ace fifth of hearts very likely on your left. I would not be surprised if they can make 5H looking at my hand. LHO could hold the ace spades instead of ace diamonds and make at least 4, possibly 5.

GIB's 1 is total waste of space and misleading - either 3 preempt or pass is the correct bid.

I can't get GIB to takeout double when I open 1, opponent GIB bids 1 and it hold 5 hcp and 5 spades so why is 4 hcp with 7 diamonds OK.
