Even though you have only 2 card support for your partner's spades, you do have 5 low diamonds... Are you more willing to play in 3NT or 4♠?
I just really despise the diamond holding if partner has a singleton diamond, so I was considering converting.

4♠ is the best spot opposite ♠KJxxx ♥xxx ♦xxx ♣xx, for instance.

There are lots of variations, and it's not absurd to convert. But worrying about diamonds is bottom of the list of reasons.

I would pass. Sure some hands might be better in 4S, however you have no way of discovering this.
