imp, nv-vul, You opened the bidding 1D, your partner responded 1H, what will you bid now, 1NT or 2C? I'm interested to know what's better in the long run.

2♣ promises an unbalanced hand, its better not to lie.

It is revealing that neither opponent has stepped in with a ♠ bid, so even if partner is quite weak, it is unlikley that ♠ poses that much of a danger anyway.
But if you bid 2♣, you may find yourself playing in a 4-2 ♦ fit

Rebidding 2C may work on this hand, because responder bids 3N AND responder has a spade tenace AND the spades are offside AND they don't block AND they can cash enough winners to set you AND the opening leader does not lead clubs AND they lead spades AND playing the AS on the opening lead does not help AND (any more?)

If your partner was so interested in rightsiding the contract maybe he should have bid 1NT over your opening.
