Overly-strict requirements for tox?

Does West not double because he fails the "2-D" criterion?

Yeah GIB refuses takeout double on 4333 which I think is big error. Not necessarily this hand with the good d and N-S vul, but if swap west's spade and diamond suits it still won't double (maybe overcall H?) which I think is really bad.

I agree. I find too many strong hands that don't meet the requirements to be able to do a takeout double, even though I usually do them anyway. The chances of getting stuck are not that different than if you did have 2-D as long as you still have 3+ of each other suit.
