This worked out great, I will ask for key cards based on ♦, then play 6♦ opposite one (too dangerous if ♦A and ruff in 6♠ happens) and 7NT opposite two.

will I play 5♦ on a 4-1 fit?
What Gerben said
I would love to bid 4♦ before blackwood to clarify partner what is going on, but he might have no cuebid avaible in a major

Simple as that heh, in hindsight it sounds great.
I bid 4♦, partner responded 5♣

I wonder how partner can bid 3♦ with only 1 tophonour.
Anyway, I'd bid Blacky (whatever method - Gerber/minorwood/kickback/RKC/...). We only need to know about Aces.
If you lack such agreement I guess 4♦ is a pretty obvious rebid. If partner now bids 5♣, he denies a ♥ and ♠ control. With only ♦A for his 3♦ bid, I guess he must have ♣A as well. I'll bid 7♦.
Btw, if possible I'd bid voidwood in any of the suits. If opps know me, they'll know that I sometimes bid voidwood without an actual void so they might lead that suit anyway. This time however, when it's voidwood ♥ or ♠, I'd love that lead.

He slightly fudged the 3♦ bid, this was his hand x Jx AJTxxx Ax
and our auction
2♣:3♦
4♦:5♣
6♦:6N
7N
So we got there but I think the direct Ace ask is better.

I approve of the partner's 3♦ bid. A hand that strong with AJTxxx of diamonds ought to suggest diamonds even if the 2♣-3♦ auction is awkward. And agree that keycard is all you need as you can be confident 6♦ is making and just need to check on 7nt.

Better ask for keycards right away because pard may not have cue available if you bid 4♦.
Besides, all you need is to know the aces across, so 4NT will sort it out. No need for "daisy-picking"
