if you decide to bid 4D, east bids 5D

if you bid 4C, east will bid 4D

if you bid 4S, partner passes

Definitely interested in slam -- Partner could have passed if they were Weak(ish), as 2 should allow one forcing pass. Therefore 3 should be strong, I'd start with 4 then bid 4 over 4

i should clarify, we're playing 2/1. Everything u said still holds with the additional, 2 diamonds creates a game force.

if u bid 4H, partner will bid 5D

2/1 is even better :)

Over 5 I can't imagine what partner could have that they couldn't bid 4 with... QJTxx A AQxx xxx? Anyway I bid 6 and am ready to apologize if it's wrong, but I just cannot think of a hand consistent with the previous bidding that could bid this way.

Makes it too easy for opponents to choose 4 or 5 hearts as a sacrifice.

Does anyone play support DBLs for the minors ?

3H-cue ( by Opener ) does not guarantee Diam support... ( definitely a strong hand which could be asking for a stop ) .

1S - ( p ) - 2D! - ( 2H )
X!
Keeps the bidding lower and definitely shows 3 card support... but, as usual, does not reveal strength .

I am trying to visualize this strong hand which does not have diamond support but needs help with heart stoppers (and clearly has no more than a jack in clubs). Must have about 7 or 8 spade honors eh?

I have stopped trembling at the prospect of the opponents sacrificing in 4 or 5 hearts tho. I trust that insufficient bids are still outlawed.

Redouble - there may easily be a grand.
You must know the rules well - so that you may break them wisely!

What about redouble? Would it show a first-round control in hearts? Then that's my choice.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Because it is so much more easy for LHO to bid 4 over XX, than it is over 4/4???

Agreeing to Support DBL helps out Responder. It removes any ambiguity of a 3H-cue by opener.
And why unecessarily crowd the bidding by your side in a GF auction?
Let's say Advancer crowds the bidding with 3H after a Support DBL. Now Responder has an easy 4C:

1S - ( p ) - 2D! - ( 2H )
X! - ( 3H ) - 4C!

Now, if Opener is as strong as purported, he should be able to make a Sp cue ( eventho OP's options shows he won't cue Sp.... probably because of Opener not knowing about a Cl Ctrl... but now he knows ) :

1S - ( p ) - 2D! - ( 2H )
X! - ( 3H ) - 4C! - ( p )
4D - ( p ) - 4H! - ( p )
4S!

or Opener may just go RKC

If partner can have "anything" then I try XX. If he promises diamond support, I could perhaps bid exclusion 5, but other bids are possible.
I assume that 3 shows a good hand regardless of what type he has, so this should be a question of small or grand slam only with the latter being more likely.

If I have discussed this sequence, then it shows diamond support with heart shortness. I would start cuebidding with 4, obviously followed by 4 over 4.

If I haven't discussed this sequence, I hope that partner is sensible and treat his cuebid as promising diamond support with heart shortness.
