1 - 1
4 - 4
5 - 5
Pass

or more likely:

1 - 1
4 - 4
4N - 5
5 - 6
6 - Pass

Agree with 1-1-4. East might try 4 next but a stiff heart and only four trumps mean 12 tricks will take some work. You need at least AKxx Axxxx AQx x and it is still not cold. So probably 4 is best.

After that if East bids 4 I would definitely pass with West. If East bids 4 you probably reach slam which is not terrible but you'd prefer not to be there.

I don't think I could bring myself to pass the West hand after 4, perhaps that's a case for 1-1-3 (or 1-1-2 if you're Ken Rexford).

4 is an underbid but I don't like alternatives (fake 3).
4/4 would be exagerated I think : a lot of work to do (including the real hand) ! Hence 4.
Over 4 we have far more chances to find a weakish hand that means danger in 5 than the good hand for slam. Hence West makes a statistical Pass.
This is imho one of the tribute to pay to very wide range 1 openings if you don't have the artificial arsenal to cope with "end of the spectrum hands".

What has happened to splinters? West has a maximum splinter, but I don't understand driving to the 5-level if partner sign's off in 4. Basically forcing to slam (with RKCB) seems really too much.

East's decision seems closer, but 4 seems right.

Agree with this. A two-tiered splinter over 1 - 1 would be nice.

1-1-2N-3-4-4

2N=GF unbalanced
3=relay
4=4531/4621
4=not interested

I suspect the big hand gives up now, but it's close, certainly stops in 5 rather than bidding 6 if it does continue.

So basically you are accepting your own invitation ?

And what if partner really have wasted hcps and signed off in 4, lets exchange his KJ to suit, he will bid exactly same when u aks keycards and ending up at 5 level on first example and in slam on second with 3 losers nowhere to park.

The other table can't stop below 6S.
Need S:3-2 + DQ onside + no freak D:5-0. My luck they'll make.
Opponents silent with their clubs ups the odds their shape is tame.
Still hate losing a swing on this type of hand.
