Pretty sure I would do the same thing, sucks when partner has a primed out 20 count! (I play south could have way less)

Unless you play 4 is non leaping michaels and showing a REALLY good hand, you're very unlikely to sniff this, the 4 bidder has done the job.

What does doubling and bidding 4 shows ?
Very strong hand with spades or 2suiter ?

If strong hand then N have easy slam try. If 2suiter then I guess it's bad luck.

I have KTxx of trumps, a singelton, and another King extra and pass 4 Spade?

No matter whether X and 4 Spade shows a twosuiter (Who plays this way?) or strong with spades.

What hand do you expect from partner for his bidding so far?

AQJxxx,xx,AQJx,x so that 5 Spade is in danger?

LOL
Kind Regards

Roland

So you'd pass 4 with:

I do, or at least I play it as showing doubt about which suit to play in - it could also be 5242 or perhaps even 5233.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Next Q 5C gets partner to see 6S.
