Teams, North deals, N-S Vulnerable:

North

JT932

South

Pa-(1)-2-(Pa)
Pa-(X)-Pa-(Pa)
XX-(Pa)-Pa-(Pa)

Is that SOS redouble? Is that the right hand for it (in terms of distribution)? Is that the right hand for it (in terms of being scared and thinking 3 of a minor is better)?

in the likely case when partner has 6 hearts, you are just jacking up the level when you have stiff honour in support. Pass of 2hx seems clear.

Probably

No
Plus what Phil_20686 says.

Still voted that the pass of the redouble was the worst. If redoubler had a redouble, 3C would be right.

All three bids are quite awful. I'd rank them:

Pass of redouble is worst. Redouble asked you to run (if 2X was making why not take the plus) and you have only five hearts and a horrible hand. There is just no reason to pass the redouble.

Redouble itself is second-worst. You have a heart honor; opposite the common hand with six hearts you should have play for 2X-1 or even making. While you might catch partner with a four-card minor, there is no particular reason partner can't be 3622 or 3631 and you exchange a small negative for a huge negative.

The 2 overcall is pretty bad, especially given the vulnerability and form of scoring. However, this kind of bid does work out sometimes (perhaps as often as it fails); the problem is that the wins are often partscore swings and the losses often telephone numbers. If the bidder thought he was NV at matchpoints then 2 seems like it would be an okay call, and I can't ding him as hard for a call that would be okay at a different vulnerability/form of scoring than I can for the redouble and pass of redouble which are just awful.

Redouble is SOS but this is not the right hand for hand. Heart is more or less your best suit!

Agree with awm's order of worseness, although 2H is close to being ok with me.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Yes XX is SOS, no don't do it with this hand (specificially the HJ is very nice).

This kind of 2H bid is the thing a lot more good players are doing these days, when I started playing bridge it was considered completely awful. I still would never consider doing it red/white.

I don't like the 2 overcall, especially at teams. But ok, sometimes you're stolen from, so it's tempting to act immediately.

RDbl at this point is pure SOS: there's no fit established and you're already getting the game score if you make (so no point in RDbl for business). Would I do it? No, but it's acceptable if you know partner's style is like this.

Passing the RDbl is ridiculous. Partner asks to bid something, you don't have something like 7s, so you bid another suit. This is by far the worst call in the entire auction.

The final pass is lack of system knowledge while the 2 and XX are both bad judgement. So maybe it's a little unfair to compare.

I thought the 2 overcall was about as bad as the xx. But from the other reactions that seems to be wrong.

I like overcalling very light but this hand is awful due to Jxxx and only 5hearts. I pass.

The wors bid is for sure passing the rdbl. I guess S was just in panic mode.
RDBL is awful too as previous posters said.
