What would 3♥ at partner's first chance have meant? If it showed spades and a minor, then he is either 6-5 or out of range for whatever we agreed 3♥ would show. Or maybe he is only 5-4 but has a real monster.
I might bid 4♦ but it really depends whom I'm playing with.
