points for free tournament winners?

I suggest that BBO grants 0.1 or 0.01 master point for free tournament winners as a measure to encourage talented but low-budget players ;)
At the old fashioned diner, the food's good, and the coffee's hot.

There's no way this is going to happen. Masterpoints are only awarded by the ACBL in ACBL sanctioned games, and they are not going to start giving them away for free; after all, masterpoints are the only thing the ACBL has exclusive rights to sell to its members.

I suppose the proposal was about BBO master points, not ACBL master points. Low-budget players tend to live in non-ACBL countries ;)

Anyway, Chris' argument may still apply.

Because there's such a strong correlation between masterpoints and skill, and this will in no way cause bad free TDs to do even more shady things...

If you want something for free/no charge, you get it every day on BBO. Just not free BBO or ACBL masterpoints.

hsheng some bbo private clubs do award their own private point

iac club

bbo hornets gives fun points

memberships on those is free and they keep it on their websites

rock around the clock holds special tourneys for their better performing players

so you will have points there
