Pass, this is a non-problem. I predict a unanimous panel (famous last words?)

That's what I thought... but I played a tournament this morning and only 21 of the 49 players faced with that decision passed. Maybe individual tournaments are just an invitiation to play bad bridge.

Pass. Gilbert would overcall 2C. (Seriously).

It might work on this hand but it throws me deep into tiltland if it doesn't work. If it works I'm still angry. Amused but angry.

2 is not as bad as everyone here is suggesting, but it's almost so bad  just pass

oh. i just realised how strong we were. in that case 2 is really bad and foolish.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

An on and off partner for the last 10 years that many of the posters know. I've mentioned him before I'm sure. He has some idiosyncrancies:

1. Extremely downgrading any 4333 regardless of honors and intermediates.

2. Preempting on low loser count 5-5's and the like.

3. Overcalling on very bad suits but only when he has length in RHO's suit.
