Whats your bid?

As long as 3D is forcing, there is nothing to say against 3D, although
playing SAYC or 2/1 3D would be just inv. and NF.
But maybe, espesially after we know, how the auction developed
you would have been better of with a FSF seq, because if you find a club
fit, you wont be too sad, and the FSF seq. may have told you something
about openers strength - without add. agreements p could still hold a weak NT,
and than 3NT may well be the limit.
But you did show opening hand and 6 good diamonds, so 3D was ok.
With kind regards

Your pard has room to show 5+clubs, bid 2nt or whatever. Most likely, you can bid 3 diamonds next and accept partners lack of interest should they bid 3 notrump in comfort.

Good question. (In fact, the way I play, 1♥ promises 5+ clubs but does not necessarily promise four hearts.)
That said, let's give partner a typical hand.
♠AQx ♥Kxxx ♦x ♣QJxxx. Opposite that hand, the four-level is probably safe, but the hand could be worse.
♠AQx ♥Axxx ♦x ♣AJxxx. Opposite that hand, slam may be better than 50-50, but that's a really big perfecto hand.
Just don't think it's close enough to try a 4♣ call. Slam might be there, but too remote to check.

at the board, I did take about a minute to decide between 6NT and pass. 3NT made 7 on a bad lead by defender leading x from Axxx♠ dummy's J♠ holding the trick. Fortunately, nobody found the slam and 520 was a split top between 4 out of 7 pairs.
From there, we took 6 diamonds, 5 clubs and AK♥
Partners hand was

I can understand reopening with 4♣, specially if playing walsh, so partner will quickly reject with 4. I don't think slam can be any good if he doesn't hold 5♣. But that will be my last effort.

But slams are so much easier to bid if you use Strong Jump Shifts!

1c=1d
1h(walsh)=2d(xyz)
2s=3c
Now I think opener will get excited.
alternative is if you play 3d over 1h again as xyz, single suited slam try.

If you can't decide between bidding slam and passing, I would suggest inviting slam.
