Scoring: MP

1   2   2   Pass
2NT

Is this forcing or nonforcing in your book? Say 2/1 in effect, now GF?

Not forcing.
After the overcall 2 is non-forcing 8-11 or 10+, depending on agreements.
I prefer 10+.
The 2NT is natural, minumum with stop(s).

Hi Hamdi,

I think standard is non forcing but I have played it as forcing too. If it is NF then you have to rebid 3NT with this hand, no big deal, and rebid 3C if you have a big balanced hand like 18-19.

edit: I see dicklont said 2 is non-forcing, I do not agree, 95+% of all non-Polish experts play 2 as forcing 1 round.

No, Dick says it is either
8-11 NF
or
10+ (i.e. obviously forcing).

In Biedermeijer which is the standard the Dutch BF has tried to get accepted, it is NF by default with F as an option. My impression is that the vast majority of Dutch tournament players play it as forcing.

Anyway, 2NT is NF for most.

IF 2 was nonforcing, 2 NT surely is nonforcing too.
If 2 was invitational + (10+) it is nonforcing.

Not forcing.

Depends of course on the menaing of 2S, some / maybe the
majority playes 2S as 1 round force, i.e. 2S does not even
promise a 2nd bid, playing this style you need to be able to
bid 12-14, without going overboard.
