LHO leads the 8 of diamonds (higher than all of ours) and RHO wins the K and returns a club. They play 3/5th leads but not sure about what the club means.
What's your line?
This is a club game in a foreign country. I don't usually rely much on (average or worse) opps' carding because I find that sometimes it takes them a while to understand what I'm asking and then more often than not they just don't know what club they'd return from xx, xxx, etc. Do you think I should insist more? I don't know.
Anyway, I gave this to two widely acclaimed American experts, one of them currently living in Holland, the other in Scotland, and they didn't play the contract the same way! Opps play 15-17 NT's.
Abstains due to callous overbidding will be taken as 'I dont know how to play it'.

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Blah I wrote a super long post and my browser crashed or something, so tilting.
Anyways I'm not writing it again but I would just play ace and a spade, and then try and guess hearts. You will have a lot of information after cashing clubs and seeing how spades have split. If RHO was 2-2 or 1-3 in the blacks, play them for the HJ. Otherwise play LHO for the HJ. If you get to a position where you will play LHO for the HJ, make sure to lead a heart off dummy in case RHO has AJ doubleton.
The endplay line requires too much imo.
