Double. For penalty.

Is this a trick question?
Double and congratulate your partner on a good opening bid.

Perhaps we need a new sub forum called 'The Bleeding Obvious'
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Double seems obvious

There are certainly hands where

1. I would open 5
2. LHO would overcall 5
3. You would hold the hand in question

where we could be cold for slam.

***** happens

There's no way to know whether slam is right (and at least 9 times out of ten, slam will be VERY VERY bad)

I'd recommend double all the live long day

In what would likely have been the first unanimous poll ever, alas, no poll was given.

Edit: Hmmm, was a poll added after the fact or did I just miss it the first time?

Is the word "pass" not in your vocabulary?

Who cares if the opening bid was good.

Double congratulating your opponent on an excellent overcall.

I was tempted to choose "Do Something Else" in the poll, if "Do Something Else" included standing up on your chair and yelling "DOUBLE!"

But I will content myself with a mere double.

Just for historical reference, I can remember 2 or 3 unanimous polls before, and I think we have had it with over 50 votes. So this is unlikely to be a record.
