Thanks for the bug report, Stephen.

What I need to know is what you did to create this state of affairs. Were you using the Windows client or the web-client? Which series of clicks caused this to happen? Can you replicate the bug?

I suspect this is happening only on older versions of IE. If it is practical for you to try to replicate it using a different browser, that would be great (but don't worry if this turns out to be non-trivial).

Once I know how to replicate this bug, it should be easy to fix. Most likely there will be a new and improved version of the ACBL CC editor/viewer available within the next few days which hopefully will contain a fix to this problem.

By the way, if you see Javascript report a problem in the future, there is no need for you to include the massive block of code. I realize you didn't know that and I appreciate you trying to provide me with information that might have turned out to be useful.

Sorry about the mess, I need to be able to edit the post and I can't.

Yes, completely reproducible (at least with my current CC).

I couldnt make a screen shot easily, so this was my next alternative.

(maybe you can fix the [ / CODE] tag to be in the right place, then it wont mess up the BBOF screen)

I'm not going to update to IE7. Sorry.

I actually wish that instead of invoking iexplore.exe you instead were able to use the default browser. Then I am betting this wouldn't happen at all.

Cheers

Stephen

added: finally found the edit button it was way off screen because of the mess

I have a nasty feeling I may have tried to click on some card lead that wasn't allowed. I tried to set the lead to something that showed there but it didn't highlight (green frame) after I clicked it. Maybe that is the problem.

The bug Stephen reported is now fixed.

In theory everyone should pick up the new version of the ACBL convetnion card editor/viewer automatically, but you may have to clear your cache in order to make sure that happens.

Some other minor improvements have also been implemented in the new version.

...Unless you have a big monitor, the vertical space taken up by these controls rates to have an adverse impact on user experience. You can get around this problem by hitting the F11 key after the software loads. [/quote]
Alas, the flash i/f, at least in FF3, does not allow F11 to maximise the screen. You have to do this BEFORE you run the client flash.

And.... GIB button is gone when reviewing offline hands. Sigh.

Minor detail in CC editor, you cannot lead J from KQJx :)

The new version still has the bug I reported a few weeks ago when kibitzing a team match. The report of the result at the other table is often for a different board.

We sign up for subbing in any game and suddenly

Subbing works much the same in both versions, except that in the web version you have the ability to sign up for 'any Tournament' while in the windows version you can only sign up for specific tourneys.

A TD who cares is expected to look at the list and pick the one he wants . Some of them doubtless pick 'any sub' then replace that sub if they dont like what they get. that isn't too nice.

U

Uday does this feature of TD being able to pick from a displayed list only exsist in Client

I would love to be able to pick subs but dont get chance under normalWindows

Thanks for reporting this (again).

This is a server bug that I thought Uday had fixed. I will let him know that the bug is still present.

Huh?

There is all the reason in the world for wanting to be able to lead the J from this combination, or the Q from AKQ, according to how sophisticated your carding agreements are. Presumably yours are not......

My cc's are working nicely. This is a long awaited add-on - thanks!

Now....

- any suit symbols going to be added?
- choice of font sizes would be nice

probably the best thing a cc could have would be a hyperlink to an external page for system notes....;)

You can include suit symbols in the standard BBO way - !S will produce a spade symbol, for example.

The suit symbols will appear as suit symbols only when you are "viewing" an ACBL convention card (ie not when you are "editing"). Also, you can change the font size in view mode through buttons at the top of the convention card. Changing the font size in view mode will result in the font size being changed in edit mode as well.

In theory your choice of font size will be remembered, but the software relies on a "cookie" in order for this to work. So, if you have disabled cookies in your browser, you will have to set the font size every time.

I like your external system notes idea. Maybe I will do something along those lines in some future version.

Does that cookie thing mean that when someone else views your CC, they're going to see it in THEIR font size, not the size you used?

Yes. In general browsers are restricted from accessing the user's hard drive, but they are allowed to create and open small files (cookies) if the user lets them. As far as I can tell, the default setting in most browsers is to allow cookies.

Setting the font size on a given computer will result in all CCs edited or viewed on that computer appearing with that font size - it will not have any impact on the font size that appears under any circumstances on a different computer.

If you log in with a different BBO user ID on the same computer, you will see the same font size.

If you log in with the same BBO user ID on a different computer, you will see the other computer's font size.

If I have finished playing in a tourney and kib at the last table until the tourney really ends, I can see my scores for the boards and the travellers of each board, but the display of the current hand below the list never changes - the last board of the tourney is displayed all time.

I was able to reproduce this in several tourneys.

Do you mean that you click on a line in the list of results and the display of the actual deal does not change?

If/when convenient, can you tell me if the same thing happens if you do not join another table as a kibitzer when you finish playing?

Thanks,

Exactly.

When I was kibbing at another table of the same tourney, the problem always occurred, and when I was at no table when the tourney finished, there has never been such a problem.

Thanks Karl. Just 1 more question (hopefully):

Does this behavior happen while you are kibitzing at another table or only after the tournament is completely finished?

Thanks,

Fred
