Scoring: IMP

RHO opens 2H in second seat. You double, and partner responds 2NT (lebensohl). 3♣ or 3♥? More importantly, what is your thought process?

3♣. I don't think this hand has good enough values or spots to thoroughly force partner.

Low road, this is only enough for game is partner is an absolute maximum for 2NT or has something perfect like Kxxxxx of clubs.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

3C.

If partner wants to sign of in 3C too bad,
but maybe I get another chance to speak,
and than I will know, which suit to play will.

The problem with 3H is, that I am basically
forcing to game, without an idea what to play.

With kind regards

3♥. I used to go low on these, but this hand is going to play really well. Even into a bad break, our offsuit tricks are early so they won't be getting ruffed off. Partner is aceless so he isn't going to cooperate, we have to force him to get to game. Finally, the aces protect us from getting doubled, so we can fully enjoy the IMP odds we're getting from being vulnerable.

3♥. Will respect a sign off from partner.

3♣. There's nothing special about this hand, with its singleton ace and empty suits. It's true that I might miss game opposite something like xx xxx Kxx KJxxx, but that's a perfect maximum.

Close, but 3H for me.

Except partner will be expecting another call from you when he bids 4 of a minor.

I don't see what all the hullabaloo is with this hand. Partner probably has some modest heart length and we need something special to make 5 of a minor.

3♣ for me.

I suspect the low-roaders do not make crummy direct seat takeout doubles of Weak two's, and are more comfortable with 3c because their partners know this.

I'm a 3♣ bidder, but I'd also double 2♠ with Axxx x J98x AQxx

This is why Andy is a Camrose winner and BBO star. I'd only double 2♥ with that hand.

Don't like the singleton Ace either. Put me down for 3C.

If partner has Kxxxx in a minor and out we've already got a shot at 5m depending on his shape.

I'll play him for a little more vul at IMPs.

3♥. If he is broke - too bad. 4 aces is huge if we catch him with some shape.
