"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

I'm feeling conservative on this one.

Partner's NT overcall promises Dimaond values opposite our stiff.
I'm also worried about the Clubs.

Seems reasonable.

Partner with controls and a fit can move over 4♠. Seems like he should be in a reasonable position to judge whether to move on.

As it turned out, partner had made a VERY aggressive 1NT overcall with ♠Jx ♥QJ10 ♦KQJxx ♣Axx and will not remotely accept. But, was curious.

How about a transfer and then an auto-splinter jump to 4♦. Overcaller can judge the amount of Diamond waste. With the example hand you posted, overcaller can put on the brakes.

This is what I was thinking, but I wouldn't at MPs where a diamond lead rates to help us.

I would not put a partner who overcalls 1NT on that hand in a position when he has to take over 90% of the tricks on any hand, ever. I don't think he would be able to handle it.

But with someone else, why not transfer to spades then show a diamond splinter however you do so? Partner can tell us if he has diamond wastage rather than us guessing for him.

Well, to be honest, I did actually just jump to 5♠ invitational, to make sure I played it for that reason. :P The lead into my hand helped -- I scored up the make.
