You have a 3-2-3-5 hand and it goes

1-(1)-?

Suppose you rule out 3 and 2 and 2NT and think that your hand is worth either 1NT or 2.

What is the weakest spade holding that you'd 1NT and wouldn't 2 with? If this depends significantly on the form of scoring or you think the restrictions make no sense, please explain.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

5-card support? I would never bid 1NT.

Doesn't exist.

OK maybe AQT Qx Jxx xxxxx

I would need 2.5 or 3 spade stoppers, and no values in clubs pretty much. Bidding 2C rates to get you to a better partscore, and involves partner in the decision about bidding 3C or not. If 3N is our right game we can still get there. I don't understand why you would try to mastermind with 5 card support.

It is often a bad idea to disagree with Justin, but I would bid 1 NT at imps with KJx or better in spades. This hand looks like NT.
Kind Regards
