With what kind of hand, you would rebid 2NT? Assuming you don't play good bad 2nt.

Offshape 15-17ish hands with spades double stopped. Stronger hands can bid 3N.

I would bid 3NT with the gambling hand ( reverse in spades), and 2NT with the 18-19 balanced hand where slam or game elsewhere is possible.

IMO this is the most logical treatment... With Gerben's hand you can double I guess, however I would have opened it 1NT.
