If north open weak 2 in hearts its over.

If 3 passes to south it gets complicated. I would bid 1-2showing a very weak hand with 6 hearts.

If it goes 1-1-2, again I would bid 2 with north and play in hearts.

Only if the bidding starts pass-1-1-3 will the final contract be in diamonds.

I'm assuming there will be 3 passes to South who opens 1.
My auction would go something like
p - p - p - 1
1 - X - 2 - 3
p - 3 - p - 4.

X was negative, intending to bid my hearts after partner's rebid showing a hand with 6+ and not enough to make a 2/1.
When partner then bids 3 and not a X, he most likely doesn't have 3 (lack of takeout/support double, if you play that) and so his shape is most likely 1264 or 1255 or 1165. Since the former two shapes is more likely, I'm going to bid 3.

I was North and I play Weak 2's with 6-9 points and a good 6 card suit, which is pretty well standard @ my club. That's y I think nearly every1 else ended in Hearts. However I had simply forgotten about Weak openings. Thanks all 4 ur input.

That is not quite the end of the matter.

It is fairly standard to not open a weak two with a side four-card major. Although a style where you do open with 2 is played by some. However it is a matter you should discuss in advance with your partner.

Andy's auction should get you there.

As for opening a weak 2 vulnerable with the weakish suit and 4 I don't do it even at MP.

Just too much to lose or miss and a bit too little to gain.
