I want to know what minor they have, and I'm perfectly fine bidding to the 5 level in exchange for that information. Who knows, maybe I'll get a nice bid in next round.

I don't know if you say these things just to make people go WOW or if you think they are actually true.

So, i bid 5♥. LHO bid 6♣, and partner doubled, what now? This is a more challenging question to me than original 5♥.

I would have bid 2♠ to start with.

The last time I held such a hand in a similar situation, my partner
strongly requested that I bid 2S, I am kind enough to follow his
wishes.
A possible alternative would be to bid 3D as transfer shopwing
a contructive raise,w ith the plan to bid 4H later.
As it is, I think 2S promises more defence, so would prefer a
direct 4H bid or a constructive raise.
Add to this the fact, that some play, that a 2S bid sets up a
forcing pass, at least on the 5 level.
If they bid over 4H, I still have the option to to show add.
defence with a double.
With kind regards

We are all connected to each other biologically, to the Earth chemically, and to the rest of the universe atomically.
We're in the universe, and the universe is in us.

The second question is much easier.
Having decided to bid 5H (which I don't know if I agree with or not), there's clearly no point in doing anything except passing partner's double.

Pass.
Did you say, that you believe that it is best to
preempt to the limit at onece?
If youd did this, there is a other rule, which states,
if you have preempted pass for ever afterwards.
With kind regards
Marlowe
PS: And I definitely do not agree with 5H, why go to the 5 level?
You dont know, if they can make anything, if they are willing to
sac. and so on.

Which is the WOW, that I seriously considered passing, or that I think I'd be alone in doing so?

I considered passing first to see if LHO takes a spade preference, but I don't like it because we won't find out that much anyway.
Plus its masterminding.

Thanks.
When I say "I think I'm the only one who", I don't mean that literally. I mean "I know that good players won't make this call, but I don't understand why". But then, if I say that I may end up insulting good players who do make the bid. Or at least consider it.
