2♠. 4♣ is fitted for me, and not a splinter, but I think I'd like to give LHO a chance to double or even raise spades.

I'll bet I'm the only person on the planet whose first instict is to pass.

I want to know what minor they have, and I'm perfectly fine bidding to the 5 level in exchange for that information. Who knows, maybe I'll get a nice bid in next round.

I don't know if you say these things just to make people go WOW or if you think they are actually true.

In fact, i believe it can't be too wrong if i follow the rule of preempting to the limit at first chance.
So, i bid 5♥. LHO bid 6♣, and partner doubled, what now? This is a more challenging question to me than original 5♥.

Heh, I think the second part is easy, I have a lot more defense than 5♥ promised.
I would have bid 2♠ to start with.

4H.

The last time I held such a hand in a similar situation, my partner
strongly requested that I bid 2S, I am kind enough to follow his
wishes.

A possible alternative would be to bid 3D as transfer shopwing
a contructive raise,w ith the plan to bid 4H later.
As it is, I think 2S promises more defence, so would prefer a
direct 4H bid or a constructive raise.
Add to this the fact, that some play, that a 2S bid sets up a
forcing pass, at least on the 5 level.

If they bid over 4H, I still have the option to to show add.
defence with a double.

I would bid 2S. We have a great potential of a slam.

The second question is much easier.
Having decided to bid 5H (which I don't know if I agree with or not), there's clearly no point in doing anything except passing partner's double.

Pass.

Did you say, that you believe that it is best to
preempt to the limit at onece?
If youd did this, there is a other rule, which states,
if you have preempted pass for ever afterwards.

With kind regards
Marlowe

PS: And I definitely do not agree with 5H, why go to the 5 level?
You dont know, if they can make anything, if they are willing to
sac. and so on.

Which is the WOW, that I seriously considered passing, or that I think I'd be alone in doing so?

I considered passing first to see if LHO takes a spade preference, but I don't like it because we won't find out that much anyway.

Plus its masterminding.

Thanks.

When I say "I think I'm the only one who", I don't mean that literally. I mean "I know that good players won't make this call, but I don't understand why". But then, if I say that I may end up insulting good players who do make the bid. Or at least consider it. :)

I'm splintering 4♣, showing a void in my methods. I've got a little more playing strength than partner will expect. I'm planning to cuebid 5♦ next. Having denied GF values (high cards), partner will have a pretty good impression of my hand then.
Kind regards,
Harald

Sadly, result is 6Cx +1. Maybe my partner could have passed, then i would bid 6H for sure. His hand is AK QJxxx Jxxx Jx. I'm still not convinced by some posters' opinion that my hand is more defensive than 5♥, but maybe i'm worng.

I would have never doubled with your partner's hand. The overtrick is a bit of a surprise, but still, I don't understand his double.

2♥ bidder had 6♠s and 5♣s.
