What do you bid with 4 card and a balanced 16HCP?

We play 2 here as relay and 2 as NF (ie diamonds longer than spades).

If you play 2-way checkback I suppose you could also play it here, i.e. 2 as either weak with long diamonds or any invitational hand, and 2 as any GF hand. Or transfer checkbacks.

But if you want to have 2 available as a natural NF I think you need to play 2 as a general force.
