There was a thread recently where everyone except me claimed that 3S was forcing here. And yet it's not even a poll option...

Huh? They raised to 3D so 3S is not a jump.

Anyways I'm fine with 3S.

I prefer 4 here. My hand gets pretty good if pard has some clubs and extras. Will pull pard's 4 to 4.

Yes, the auction was something resembling

1S (2C) 2D (3C)

and everyone except me - including you, I think - claimed that 3S by opener was forcing.

there is a huge difference between a 2/1 and a take out double. 2/1 normally shows that this is our hand. I'd even say that pass is forcinga after a 2/1.

You don't think that this auction is incredibly different from the auction posted?

Always include an option 'Other'! Usually a lot of people here find some other/better bid than you included. Here I go for 3 as well...

Hi,

either 3S (non-forcing) or 4S.

3S is certainly the correct bid, but I may
take a long time coming to this conclusion,
which may lead to bidding 4S.

With kind regards
Marlowe

3 seems perfect. And yes I believe it's NF on this auction but forcing if partner had bid a suit instead.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

I'm also a 3 bidder here. If we survive this round we're well placed... Could even be in the right spot if it goes all pass.
Kind regards,
Harald

3 partner is allowed to make a takeout double on a hand that just wants to compete. We have a little extra so are happy to compete one level higher.
