(1) - Yes, I know some of you would bid 4♣ here, but didn't want to give opps a peck at bidding 4♦, perhaps talking themselves into bidding 5♦ over 4♠ when they wouldn't do it over a direct 4♠.

Edit: I guess I might answer the other questions, too. I like 4♠. I would pass now.

4S is fine, it indeed seems likely that you will be allowed to play there so why tell them that you have clubs.
Now it is a bit of a guess. I guess that partner does have some values in hearts and not the perfecto and I pass.

I dislike 4♠.
I have no coins in my pocket.

4♠ is fine.
I suspect that I will dislike partner's bidding when I see his hand - Pass, then 2♠, then 5♠?

I think partner has extreme shortage in diamonds. This might be good news or bad news depending on whether he has club or heart cards. He could have both and no spade honours.
With two ways to go wrong (assuming I am right about the diamond distribution) I think I will Pass bidding doesn't seem to be a good bet.

I will pass now. I am pretty sure my D Ace is not carrying its full weight.

This approach, of making an uninformative jump to game in the hope of avoiding further competition, never ever seems to work for me. They always bid to the five level anyway, and I'm left wondering what to do and wishing I'd involved my partner.

Pard steched his neck quite a bit. I kinda owe him a raise, but stuff really depends on where his high cards are. I have too many holes and pard did bid only 2♠, so pass.

About bidding 6, well, we could even be cold for grand actually, but partner is likelly to be bidding on on a heart suit, wich makes the hand awful.
Is partner on the same wavelenght as us? hiding his suit when he could easylly show it at the 5 level?.
Not knowing partner I feel lucky and bid 6.

Anyway, the 4♠ bid made it impossible for p to make an intelligent slam decision. I think that was a good choice since 4♣ was more likely to help opps.

Interesting thought. Maybe we do have a double fit after all.

I would have opened 1♣.

Of course. Meanwhile, as Ken pointed out, what are you doing after 1♠-4♥-P-P?

Partner simply made a competitve call to 5♠ I do not think there is a strong inference that he does not have hearts. He is not expecting us to go to want to go to the six-level given only 4♠ nor need to go there if the opponents compete further.
There is a much stronger case for us showing a second suit below game to help partner with a much more likely five-level decision.
