(1) 3 if it denies 3 cards, else 2NT if 3 could show 3.

The way I was taught 3 card limit raises in 2/1 via forcing NT, if partner shows the 6th trump with a 2M rebid (1M-1N-2M) you just jump to game on account of the improved fit. This means that a raise to 3M (1M-1N-2M-3M) is specifically 2 card support, like this hand.

Won Bracket I today

1. I passed (!). Pard had KQJxxx Jx AKx xx. He said he would have passed 3. I don't believe him.

2. Yeah a heart is smart, but a LOW heart is better. Pard has KJTxx, dummy a stiff and declarer Qxx. The pro pitched at T2 and we forced him anyway but he can make.

3. Heart is automatic. Stupid teammate decided to get brilliant with a club. 20 Imps away.

4. I redoubled. We just owned this pair. LHO bid 3 and RHO bid a timid (!) 3N on his 23 pounder. Making 7 in a hook. Teammies bids the slam.

More hands when I'm not so Kimied.

... and partner would not consider playing the T at trick 1...?
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

2. J9xx Axxx xx AJx. 1N on right, 2 on left dbl by pard, 2 on right, you try 3, 3 on left, all pass.

3 is not enough, I think. When there is no cuebid avaliable to show a good raise, 2NT should serve as one. So I'll try that.
If partner won't be on the same wavelength, I'll T/O-double and correct to 3. This shows limit raise values, but usually only 3 hearts.

1. JT Qx QTxxx AJTx
(red / white)  1 - 1N (F1) - 2 - ?
2. J9xx Axxx xx AJx. 1N on right, 2 on left dbl by pard, 2 on right, you try 3, 3 on left, all pass.
3. J9xx 8xx J8xx xx. You and pard are silent: 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 4N - 5 - 7N. Your lead?
4. 7xx 7xxx Jxxx xx  All vul - pard opens a weak 2 and RHO x's.

2NT. I feel terrible about this.
Low heart seems safer than A, occasionally gaining entry to partner for a club play.
