This morning I've already received two emails of the following form.

Quote

Hello.

This is an automated email from Bridge Base Online in response to your recent email.

Please ignore this email if you have not sent us anything recently.

Please reply to this message to validate your request for support from Bridge Base Online.

When doing so, please do not alter the subject line in any way.

Your reply will not be seen by a human.

Our apologies for this inconvenience.

We receive a tremendous amount of spam, and your cooperation will help us deal with it.

Subject: {BBOT# <DELETED>}

I can appreciate the reasons for sending the first email but if from now on I'm going to get such an email from BBO every time someone spams BBO sending mail purported to be from me the spam will mount up fast. Any chance these notification mails could be limited to once every two months unless the resipient replies positively to the first mail?

If you want this to be treated as a serious suggestion to BBO, you should post in the BBO Support Forum. The Water Cooler is for random conversations unrelated to bridge or BBO.

Someone is clearly forging your email address and using it when delivering spam.

If the auto challenge is irritating, just have your email program discard it and use the contact-support form when you need us ( or contact one of us directly, of course)

maybe i'll setup disposable email address that bypass the challenge...
