This business with the convention cards is very annoying.

With one of my favorite partners (Elianna) I made the mistake of loading the SAYC card. We play something close to SAYC, so I figured I'd be able to modify the card to reflect the conventions we've added.

Unfortunately, this seems to be impossible.

Oh well, I figured, I'll just get rid of the card. Most of the time we play with friends in team games and at tables, and they won't mind if we don't have a CC (especially since our methods are close to standard).

Unfortunately, this also seems to be impossible. Whenever Elianna and I sit down to play, the SAYC full disclosure card is automatically loaded. This card automatically alerts some of our calls and explains them in a manner which isn't even correct for SAYC, much less for our actual agreements. While most of our friends wouldn't mind if we had no CC at the table, it does bother them that we have this Full Disclosure card which constantly alerts our natural bids and provides misinformation!

Is there any way to get rid of "favorite convention cards" and go back to "no CC" or a custom CC of the old-fashioned (non-FD) variety?

One way you can do it for sure is to log in to BBO using BBOFLASH, click "My convention cards" button, select the convention card that is causing the problem, and then delete it.

I *think* you can do this in the Windows client by using the "clear convention card" option on the CONV menu when you are at a table and playing with Elianna. In theory that is supposed to work, but I have not tested it recently.

Sorry about the inconvenience - hopefully the above will give you enough information to solve this problem.

First, thanks for creating this flash program so I can finally play on BBO. Since I'm not sure
what you intentionally have left out of this program, I'll just say what I've noticed so far:
In my account, any changes I make like lists of conventions are wiped as soon as I log off.
On the play page, when I host, I cannot reset the score or boot anybody.
When I click on someones name to see their profile, the chat bar resets to them, so I'm
constantly sending private messages when I don't want to because I'm not bright enough to
remember what just did 2 minutes ago.

Again, thanks to Fred and and anybody else who is involved in creating this program.

I didn't visit the forum for two months and, sadly, missed the launch of BBOFLASH! I tried to catch up today and here are my comments, in a random order. Sorry if I'm repeating what's been already said:

1. I'm confirming that BBOFLASH and BBOTV no longer work on IE6 Vista. I had no problems with BBOTV previously, both original version and the vugraph viewer.

2. Chat drop down remains a major inconvenience. There were many useful suggestions in the old BBOTV feedback thread.

3. It's great to be able to join tournaments. I am missing the following not-yet-implemented features:
a) viewing tournaments in progress, with ability to kibitz (if allowed) or join the sub list
 being able to see who's already registered
c) during play, being able to see total number of tables and who is playing at other tables
d) staying in the tournament after my last board
e) being able to see results after I have played my last board
f) I don't seem to be able to find Tournament Rules

4. I played a 8 board indy. For the first 6 boards my hand was at the bottom of the table. In the 7th round my hand unexpectedly appeared at the top but only for the duration of bidding. After three passes the hands reverted to their normal positions (rotated by 180 degrees). However, the bidding area no longer matched the location of hands making me question opps on their bidding system. Is this a known bug?

5. My Results and in particular My Tournaments are great, love them. I could think of small enhancements eg. my own name on leaderboard in a different colour, local time, bringing at first only 10 tournaments and allow to ask for next page if required.

Regards,

zielona

Not previously known, but known now - thanks :)

It will be fixed in the next version.

There will be lots of other improvements too, but not clear when the next release will be announced. Maybe soon, maybe not...

I was watching the Cayne team game this afternoon, and at one point I got a pop-up saying that I seemed to be away from my computer, and I should click OK to prevent being logged out for inactivity, which I did immediately. 5-10 minutes later I was logged out for inactivity with no warning.

I constantly find myself chatting to the wrong people. Sometimes the chat destination field changes to someone who is on my friend list but has no relation to my current sesion as far as I know. More specifically, when I want to chat to the table I have to scroll up a long list. I'm sure there is a shortcut but it is more obvious in BBOWIN.

I cannot invite someone from the partnership desk to play a pairs tourney. I can only invite my friends.

Sorry about the awkardness of the chat interface. It will be improved in the next version.

You can invite anyone to play in a tourney - type the user ID of the person in question into the space to the left of the arrow.

Today I was actively chatting with a friend while kibitzing a table in the MBC, and got logged out for inactivity a few seconds after sending her a message.

I cannot sit down at a main room table if permission is required and the chair has not been reserved for me.

I noticed this about a week ago, but haven't been able to log in to the forums until now, so it might be fixed already.

While kibitzing a game in BBOFLASH, I saw a claim by a defender which was not displayed properly. I don't remember the exact situation, but let's say that so far declarer has taken six tricks and the defense three. A defender concedes the remaining four tricks and a message appears stating something like the following:

(defender) has claimed 0 tricks. 6 tricks total for declarer.

In other words, declarer's tricks are displayed as the sum of the tricks already taken and the tricks claimed, even when the claim is by a defender.

Edit: This happened again during a vugraph match--the tricks claimed by the operator for declarer were counted for N/S, the defending side.

I also experienced not being able to join a table.

After playing at a table that I started by inviting my partner,
no new opposition could join when the original ops left. This
didn't happen when I started another table with the same invite.
I cant say what was different each time so I'm just stating that
it happened.

I was kibitzing the Granovetters this afternoon, and something weird was happening in the chat area. Whenever Pam said something, it just displayed the message, without the "granovette->Table" prefix. This also happened with the opponent sitting West at the beginning (I don't remember his handle), but when he left and someone else took his seat the messages from West came out fine. Messages from Matt and East were also OK the whole time.

Some more chat weirdness. I'm watching the Cayne team game now, and some of the kibitzers' chats are showing up without their names. I'm pretty sure it's more than one because of language differences.

Also, some of the kibitzer chat says "->Table" instead of "->Kibitzers". But kibitzers can't chat to the players, can they?

I assume when I play South, I'm the host. I've had a few players get really
upset at me because I don't/can't reset the score. Besides the fact that in
a pickup game, who really cares about the score, I would like to be able to
do it just so they stop messaging me in increasingly heated ways. Am I
missing something or is there no reset button?

The host is the person who was at the table for the most time, without leaving it. May be any player, or even a kibitzer.

Thanks Gerardo. Supposing I am the host, do any controls appear that I can't
normally see?

No. Table button. If you are not host you can see, but can't change.

Not a known bug (to me at least). I will make sure it is fixed in the next version. Thanks for the report.

Ok, I do not nor have I ever seen a table button.

on the top I see: Myaccount, convention cards, results, vugraph, help, logoff

at the bottom:leave table, director, NS cc, Ew cc, redeal, undo, leaders, claim

There are other buttons associated with viewing people's profile and joining
them, but, alas, no table.
