I think that the textbook lead is the 9 of clubs, but I'm dreadful on this type of thing.

Partner can't read it as a 4th highest, at any rate.

The rule of 11 may come into play here
The 9 is more difficult: it would not be unusual to lead the 9 from 987xx.
I do not consider this holding to be an interior sequence such that the 'book' lead is the top of the sequence. I need an honour in the sequence for that to apply (A1098x).

If I think I need to portray the message that I really have a club suit, the 3 would be a distant second choice
