New Versions - slow logon

I'm finding it slower to logon with these new versions (4.8.7 and later). The main delay is in loading Tables - this can now take over a minute whereas with old versions my logon was usually complete inside 10 secs. Anyone else see this effect?

I have not noticed this myself and it is hard for me to imagine that I have done anything to slow this down, but apparently the problem is real. I will look into it.

i have sort of noticed this too, especially with the logon screen with announcements and then it caries over to loading the tables which sometimes seems like it takes a minute....
also am on a 6mb connection at work so its not the connection
I have noticed it more though since there is a choice between classic view and the new view.

If it is slower, i think it might be related to loading the ad's...but maybe not

I don't think it could be the ads (but I'll check).
Is it the first login that is slower (that might be related to the ads in the sense the the browser we embed lumbers up slowly the first time) while the second is faster?

This might be so as I've been loading every update - logon is very fast at the moment but there are only 1500 players - I'll try later today when there are lots more players.

We are not sure if the slow logins are related to the new series of versions. If we can determine whether or not this is the case, it would at least give us some direction.
If someone who has experienced this problem with a new version could reinstall the latest "official" version of BBO from our web site and let us know if the slow logins are still present, it would be very helpful.
I suggest you rename your 4.9.6 (or whatever) NetBridgeVu.exe in your BBO folder to something else before you download and install 4.8.3, that will allow you to keep both an old and a new version on your hard disk. Then trying logging in with one version, exit BBO, then log in with the other version. Repeat this a few times and let me know if there is a difference.
Please do not get involved in this unless you fully understand the above!

Fred - I've done as you suggested and, for me anyway, the problem seems to have disappeared
I can logon with 483 and 496 in just under 15 secs - 8000 players on the site.

This strongly suggests that whatever the issue is, it is not a client issue.
