IMP, Non vs Vul

1S---(2D)---2S---(4NT*)____*after long consideration
5H---(dbl)---pss--(6D)
???

Not everyone agree with the opening 1S, but it makes possible to show the second suit at 5 level. Now what would be your choice here?

You surely are joking.

I think that 1S is really bad with hearts so much better than spades, but ok, I'm willing to go that far. But 5H with this after partner has just shown a simple raise?? An now you are suggesting that we might bid again?
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Hi,

I would have passed as opener,
and I pass now.
The main problem is, your partner
has no chance to get it right.

If you repeat hearts, partner will
always give you a preference back
to spade.

And by the way, you already promised
6-5 ... of course longer spades and
a better spade suit.

I also would have passed as opener.
Anyway, 6D hasn't made yet and 6S may be extremely expensive. I pass.

I would also have passed as opener.

And I'm not going to bid my hand twice (I already did too much) so now I pass!

As Frances said 6S may go for a phone number and I really don't know if they have 6

I wouldn't open this hand, and IF I'd get it in my mind to open, I'd start with a clear 1: longest Major. If partner has enough , he'll Dbl after the 2 overcall...

Why do I bid 5? Slam try perhaps? We already have a fit you know, this is NOT competitive showing a longer suit. ;)

Now we've worked ourselves into serious problems imo:
- You can't dbl, since partner will lead as he thinks it'll be lightner.
- You can't pass, since that's probably forcing after our 5 rebid (slam try remember).
- 6 or 6 is way too high.

I might find a Flannery 2D opening with that hand (better than 1S for sure) but if I like my partner, I would pass and then show this 2-suiter later (especially since the H are longer than the S)...having opened pass and pass again.....less to explain to the police when they are called to investigate. :o

I agree with the comments so far: I would go further: this is not remotely close to an opener for me, and bidding now shows a superman complex

I will not repeat the comments and will just add , you did a move (actually 2 moves) just sit back and hope those moves worked well.

There is no defense, and opening this hand either 1 or 1 can mislead partner. Who (btw) might also be misled by 5 [forward going, proposes a defense, gives a lead?].
Pass now, in any case

Firstly I would NOT have opened at all :) and NEVER would have bid at the 5 level -- after all P has only given a SINGLE raise :)
So I PASS
