Wow.
Depends upon the sensibility of North, I would bid 5♦ most of the week but I can see a case for going more slowly.

You get 2N from GiB if North doesn't bid it first, no idea what it would make of 4♦ (and what would 4♣ have been?).

If I am playing with Fred I'm tempted to bid 3nt, but I think it's just a little on the light side.

After seeing the rest of the auction, I wish I had opened 3nt

With the bot I'd pass to start and look for Michaels or a good response later. I'd respond 3♥ here which should be good hand weak suit.

One of the reasons I opened is because the bot is poor at advancing Michaels, especially with such weak suits.
I think it plays Feature over a weak two and so I imagine 3♥ would show a poor opening and I probably should bid 3♠. The safest way to reach game and stop there with a bot tends to be to just bid it, and on the last board of the evening that seemed wise. Tough luck if it had the perfecto hand for slam or if my opening buried the only game in spades.

The play was equally lucky. I covered the clubs lead with Q, ruffed by South. But then South continued spades, seeing the K stiff in dummy and playing partner for the A.
4♥ making was 97%, with most in NS 5♦ making or EW down in some hearts contract.

Not a 2N ask for me, but as you say it works OK on occasions
