This is a known issue, the programmers have been looking into it for a few days.

I've been having the same problem for about a week ... messages flicking on and off ... "Loading Data - Please wait ..."
and "Getting Mail - Please wait..."

problem solved ... at least for me! I deleted all my browsing data and can
now use the mail function on the site. Don't know how that worked ( I'm totally
non-techy and no grandchildren handy) but it did.

They're still working on it. They gave me a test version to try today and it still flickered, so they haven't solved it yet.

It only happens to me on my tablet, which can't access developer tools, so I can't give them helpful diagnostics.

It was happening to me on PC with Windoze 10 and Chrome.
I didn't try Android tablet.
Has stopped now but I am also using a less slow router which might be relevant.

I'm pretty sure the router is irrelevant.

It hasn't happened to me the past few days. Since this is intermittent, it's really hard for the programmers to pin it down.

I'm pretty sure too. Nevertheless, the things that can happen with a poor internet connection are allarming (to customer) and I hope illuminating (to BBO).
Tonight the PC flaked out after I responded to 1 (IIRC) and nothing happened.
I switched to cellphone where I was again allowed to respond to 1 and nothing happened.
I switched back to PC where I was again (!) allowed to respond to 1 and now (!!) opp bid 4 in tempo.
Whatever was going on, something is badly wrong.

In case it is relevant (or you care about the lesser bug too) I have "Hand Diagrams" set religiously but when I switched to cellphone I got "Pictures of Cards" (something that happens when BBO is confused in general).

Everything in Account->Settings is saved in device-level cookies, not on the server. So you have to set them separately for each device you use.

The justification is that you may have different preferences for things like pictures vs diagrams based on screen size.

It's happening on my PC too. (Windows 10; Firefox).
But I just tried Edge and that was OK, so I deleted my messages there.
Firefox version now says No Messages and is not flashing.
