I have played 2 = 0-1 and 2 = 2+ controls a few times and liked it. Not sure of 2 interfering with opener, but GF for sure.
Ultra Relay: see Daniel's web page: https://bridgewithda...19/07/Ultra.pdf
C3: Copious Canape Club is still my favorite system. (Ultra upgraded, PM for notes)

Santa Fe Precision published 8/19. TOP3 published 11/20. Magic experiment (Science Modernized) with Lenzo. 2020: Jan Eric Larsson's Cottontail . 2020. BFUN (Bridge For the UNbalanced) 2021: Weiss Simplified (Canape & Relay). 2022: Canary Modernized, 2023-4: KOK Canape, 2025-6: Canape!

The way we bid, I find that distinguishing between 0 and 1+ is enough and perhaps even then a mixed blessing.
Responding 2 takes out Birthright which is rarely a problem with 0 but might well cost with 1.

Yes, the strong hand should have the opportunity to show their hand. But on rare occasions, you have the hand where "my exact cards should make slam/grand, if partner fits" and it's easiest to get your hand off your chest in one bid.

2-2NT: "I have 5 hearts to 2/top 3, and something else (KQJxxx and out is fine, but more likely an outside K or QJ).

Now, partner just needs to find out about the K (and maybe "anything else?" "Yes, I have the J too"). You'll never get partner to "see" your hand if you don't positive with this one.

Sure, it's lucky partner's hand is "all aces". But "22-23 BAL"? Partner again knows what to do. "6-4 in the blacks and a heart void"? Again (although he doesn't like it as much).
