and only 3 down. Now it was a bit interesting that north did lead the 8, but the simulation might have shown it was the best chance,

Now look at the replay, where I am South

In normal bridge the Double is almost always asking for a -lead, but this is not the GIB-style, but I betted on it was a miss-fit 3N and I had a -stopper.

This time North decided to lead J, so it must have concluded something from my X.

We dropped a couple of tricks in defence but still 3 down. (North failed to unblock J, and I failed to realise that North could have K)

So when counting total points it might be a good idea not to count a void in partners primary suit - I my world 2 is an overbid with 10 HCP and a void in partners suit. 2 I assume would be New Minor forcing, so a difficult hand to bid.

Now the problem is that 2 is defined as forcing to 3N so now it is no longer possible for the bid to pass the last winning contract 3

3 bid by robot is crazy. Misfit just pass 3 bid. You have showed responder reverse as East and West is not interested and has shown minimum hand, and does not show any fit.

It was already crazy to show responder reverse with 10 HCP, crappy hearts and a void in partner's suit.

Passing 3 is technically not allowed since we are already in a GF.

Maybe it is best to pass anyway when the system forces you to game force on this kind of rubbish, but obviously the robot doesn't do that.

Playing the GIB system it's probably best if the robot just passes 2. Alternatively maybe 2NT.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

Overvaluing shortness in partner's suit is an age-old problem for GIB.

But having looking at the database, changing its valuation mid-hand doesn't really look achievable.
I have nothing worth contributing, bye

I thought only an immediate double of a conventional bid was lead directing for GiB and normal bridge

Isn't that double something like a penalty double which is unlikely given the auction so far

I wouldn't have known what it meant :)

I guess if I looked at the auction and thought it was penalties and you hadn't yet bid that it meant you had hearts

2 is GIB OK after counting about 5 points for the void. Not quite worth a strong jump shift on the 1st round of bidding but OK to force to game. The strong self supporting heart suit makes forcing to game mandatory. If the heart suit was weaker, like 97532 then maybe GIB could justify passing 2

Yet another missfit hand

The problem might be that the 8-card suit overules the 6-2 fit in
